Crackdown on illegal firearms nets 300 guns, 51 arrests
When i lived on Ko Samui Island some 20 years back the biggest threat came from Thai's driving SUV's drunk at night. Every Driver seemed to have a gun at the time which fortunately was used mostly against other trigger happy Thais.
One french Hotel employed entertainment manager faced death when he did not heed the advise the local commune chief gave him. Hand's off our business on renting boats to tourists that stay at your hotel or else. The french guy didn't listen and got a second warning to leave the island within 3 day's or face the music. Again he did not listen and was shot in his office in the Hotel while serving a japanese customer.
In Bangkok's China Town there were Gun Shops where it was pretty easy to buy a brand new gun. Mostly sold to Thai's at the time.
The latest developments in Thailand shows the same trajectory that we see in Cambodia. Here they're often home made, or chinese with brand new glock's. Meth Kids in PP and some other provinces found Swords as their favorite weapon. Times are getting tough but we're still EON's away of the situation in the US.
