US journalist, Danny Fenster, was released from prison after spending almost 6 months in prison and three days after receiving an 11 year sentence for incitement, contacting an illegal organization and breaching visa regulations. The Junta's case revolved around Danny working for a banned media outlet, however he'd left the company for another over 6 months before the coup and the ban.
It was a case of blatantly trumped-up charges, and as such simply a message from the Junta to foreign journalists that they had better keep in-line or face similar consequences.
Needless to say local journalists are bearing the brunt and around fifty are in prison at the moment.
