China's C919 is a real challenge now for Boeing and Airbus alike. After the mess that we all found Boeing to be in even after years i don't see much of a recovery for Boeing. Too big to fail ? Perhaps but they need the Military to step up orders.
The Russians, too have their Alternative of which they will build 1000 planes by 2030

However as long as it's a state owned company that's making the planes, they won't be able to sell any in western countries/ India.
Anyway they need to build up their credentials in the Home market for a few years.
It will however considerably decrease their dependency on airbus and Boeing.
As for the Russian made planes I wouldn't touch those ever, given their industry reliability scores that make even Boeing look like a model of efficiency and safety
