Was the Duck bar around then, they sold it.Murray wrote:VB definitely made it through the the nineties.
I'll test out a few memories here.
Does anyone remember Peter's No 1 Bar?
My first trip here I stayed at the Sorya Thmey Hotel, which is now the Bun Pav Hotel on Street 63.
My first beer in Cambodia was a VB can at the No. 1 bar.
The No. 1 bar was downstairs at the Sorya Thmey Hotel.
VB Victorian Bitter
Us Aussie soldiers coordinated for the first shipments of VB out of Australia and into Phnom Pehn. VB gave in for a container, little did they know that leashes about a week when it arrived. This is the bloke who manages the import & Khmer sales. I’m trying to track him down as I’m returning in August.
It’s definitely not a bitter, which is a pale ale and usually poured from a tap.
Vaginal Backwash.
Vaginal Backwash.

Wow, this thread is a blast from the past, 2008 . Are these threads still active, I thought they were all '' lost ''and how many of those members are still around. I think I joined this forum in 2003 or 04 but quickly got the message from KIR a few years later that I was not really welcome.
When Anchor became available in Cambodia, I recall a red haired Australian pushing away a can of VB and proclaiming, of the An Chor, "Now THIS is a beer!"
VB began to disappear soon after.
For a while after UNTAC, imported beer companies would open with a big splash and a bevy of attractive beer girls almost every month. It wasn't rare to have 8-15 beer girls from a dozen companies and countries crowding a table seeking business. Exploitative, sure, but my friends and I didn't complain at the time, sorry. Too much of an ego boost to be thought so worthy of attention.
