Whats your MBTI personality type?
I have found it very helpful to know and understand my personality type. I guess its because I am INTJ and 2% of the population.
Whats your personality? You can take a free test here.
Take special note of the 4 letter indicator, as you can research that a lot more. The title you are given i.e. Entertainer, Campaigner, Architect, is anecdotal and not really all that beneficial.

The problem with the world is stupidity. I'm not saying there should be a capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself?
I'm a campaigner, apparently

The title is a bit arbitrary, and not nearly as important as the 4 Letters indicator.Jessb52 wrote:I'm a campaigner, apparently

The author of that article doesn't appear to know what she is talking about. First example appears early on ...1984 wrote:ISTJ-A And an article about why it's crap: http://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart-new ... 70/?no-ist.
"the most obvious flaw is that the MBTI seems to rely exclusively on binary choices….For example, in the category of extrovert v introvert, you’re either one or the other; there is no middle ground. People don’t work this way, no normal person is either 100% extrovert or 100% introvert, just as people’s political views aren’t purely “communist” or “fascist”. Many who use the MBTI claim otherwise, despite the fact that Jung himself disagreed with this and statistical analysis reveals even data produced by the test shows a normal distribution rather than bimodal, refuting the either/or claims of the MBTI."
This statement alone makes it totally clear she has no clue, which is surprising considering she wrote a whole article about it. Each indicator, for example: introvert/extrovert are expressed as percentages on a sliding scale. I'm sure, TBF that her editor gave this assignment, because, of course, he knew it would draw attention.
Then she goes off comparing MBTI to astrology, as if its nearly the same, give me a break.
The comments are also very interesting. Heres one: "Actually, much of this article is not true. Any valid MBTI (not what you can take on the web) reports scores in terms of four continuims, not four binary letters. Also, the MBTI has been validated by a very large body of research over many decades. The primary reason it is not a psychological standard is because it does not diagnose any clinical conditions or mental health problems, which is what the field of clinical psychology focuses on. You see the MBTI, DiSC, and other personality profiles used in business most often because organizations are trying to understand how people can work together better.
I'm disappointed that an establishment such as the Smithsonian would publish an article without doing better fact-checking.
