70? That would rule out about 99.9% of the deathpats.Stramash wrote:Just saw a post from an agent on the SR page that says the new age for ER is 70. I would have doubted it, but a well known barang agent confirmed it is in place from Monday (though he also said it could change again the next week as it is obvious they don't have a clue what they are doing)

I've had a work permit for the past couple of years.Alexandra wrote:
You should conveniently lose that passport before they hassle you with the work permit fiasco. Start fresh with a new visa in the next one.

Went to renew my Visa and drivers license at Lucky Lucky this past June - been doing my Visa renewals through them for the past eight years. Woman checked the information page of my passport and said you are now 65 (I turned 65 a few months earlier) - would you like to change to a retirement visa? I asked her what documentation I needed to change over she said you don't need documents - you are the right age. I confirmed that I wanted to change to a retirement visa. Visa was $289 (same as Ordinary) and was ready in five days.

And just to bring my total post up to the magic 100 in nearly 10 years on this forum and on the subject of retirement - when visiting Malaysia and using public transport, on a number of occasions now I have been asked to show my passport or some ID so my age could be verified. I have then been charged local age-pensioner rates on the fare. Funny.

A retirement age of 70 - heartening to see that one again Cambodia is at the absolute crest of the social zeitgeist and enacting policy that other, supposedly more developed countries, are only now dreaming about. Denmark plans to progressively increase retirement age to 70 by the year 2050 although the increase will apparently be linked to, and contingent on, an increase in life expectancy over the same period.

You are right.PSD_Kiwi wrote:In Cambodia it is an Extension of Stay of your initial visa...it is not a new visa. In fact the correct terminology used by the Immigration Department is 'Extension of Temporary Stay'.LaudJohn wrote:In Cambodia it is not an extension of stay it is a new visa.
In Thailand you have an initial visa and then get an extension of stay as opposed to a new visa.
Cambodia is not Thailand and visas and renewals/extensions are different.
Mine says Extendion of Stay (no mention of temporary).
Apologies to the OP. I was confused with all the one month visas in the old passport.
Note to self: Must be nice to morons.
