Where were you staying? Just tell us the name of the place, without using words like "panaudicons." We're dumb.SirSrolanhsAlot wrote:
First off let me say that the places I stayed in were not the solid "tile-block/concrete"' type places that might have been more common/less options other than, but the new places were deliberate "panaudicons" where everyone could heard every other noise... I always tried to tone match as best as what I needed to do would allow or else fo elsewhere... for example, calling a moto driver who happens to know the place I needed to go, a call from an overseas family member, etc. to the point where I was curled up in the least signal friendly corner of the room whispering into the mic pinhole - I didn't even dare watch tv. Calls were move to cafes or outside and showers had to be carefully timed to come w the noise of housekeeping.
Has anyone dealt with a string of hotel bookings-> nice rooms W/irate neighbors?

Where the hell is he staying? Something isn't adding up.
1. How can I find the cheapest flight to Cambodia no matter the routing?
2. My lady friend was caught with contraband and the police are asking for money, what should I do?
3. What happens to the body of my lady friend who has died of AIDS?
Also, he asked this question here:

Try Raffles, Phnom Penh Hotel or maybe Naga World. I think GM could give a report on the last one, I have not been there for years.SirSrolanhsAlot wrote:

I used to like staying at Naga World when it was new. Then the rooms got tired really fast and started reeking of smoke and they had no non-smoking rooms. There was constant construction, crazy ear-splitting music out front during holidays, and the rooms with connecting doors allowed you hear all manner of noises from your neighbor's room, which is exactly what the OP wants to avoid.
"No connecting door" is a standard request of mine now when I book hotel rooms and check in.

Hey all- I suppose the majority-opinion answer to my question is "this is some sort of strung out delusion." I am not going to name names bc snitches get stitches. I know that there is at least some merit to the predicament described above (over the course of what was essentially one bad week) bc (well, a lot of the evidence would be similarly "diagnosed" so will spare them... but once I ran into a Khmer/English speaking lady I could hear coming down the hall and explained "I'll be outta here in ten minutes" (booked it to a friend's place) and instantly the above nuisances ceased.
I think the "lone guest at midpriced hotel" experience is rare among permanent or semi-permanent residents posting onnhere anyway but, all that aside, wondering if anyone can recommend hotel/Guesthouse options in your opinion- I think more and more places are catering to the rapid shift in clientele in terms of regional/cultural origin, so basically I'm just asking where a "barang" might take a load off, Annie. Is Long Nget street a good start?

Sir, you are pulling our panaudicons or buggy as a jaybird. Likely both.

Just want a place that muffles the sound roosters crowing starting at 3 or 4 or so.
