I disagree. A man has a right to defend himself no matter what gender the attacker is (note, I am unaware that chicken's wife was attacking him when he slapped and then kicked her).flanostu wrote:One of Alice's best.Petrol Head wrote:kinard wrote:Yet again, ad nauseamgavinmac wrote:Is a guy who repeatedly boasted online, in detail, about beating his wife and who then claimed months later it was all a "joke" questioning the relationships that other men have with their partners?
And any guy who hits a lady is a lowlife cunt, no excuse.
I'm not a feminist, but I will argue that feminists can't have it both ways....to be treated equally and then pull the gender card when it comes to physical attacks.
Of course, people say respect means noone should be hitting anyone they love, however the reality is some learned this from role models and some failed to learn coping strategies.
Regardless of anything else. If a woman is deliberately provoking a male because she thinks she can get away with it just cos she's a female, she shouldn't be surprised if her plan backfires and she gets a slap. And, as already stated, if a woman is herself hitting the male, the dude can defend himself. I acknowledge that avoiding this type of behavior is the best course of action, and, especially in western male female khmer relationships there is usually a physical advantage for the males, but don't separate it purely along gender lines.
