Any of the happy pizza joints at risk of going down too? I hope not. It is always a good place to people watch along the river.

I don't know how they got away with it for so long. I was only there once I think, the smell in there was insane.

Dirty Old Sailors:
Not my favorite bar, no, but was on a kick there for some months early on. I really needed to relax but really amped it up for them some nights. -part of the Hipstwah gentrification of Cambodia. Kinda amusing observing them trying to hide their developing ice habits while inviting in notorious khmer street girls thinking they were "saving" something from the "patriarchy".
One of her dogs shit in the middle of the room, sorta putting the star on the tree, and they were so dang hip, that one ran outside to hire a khmer woman (an old lady) to pick up a dog turd in tissue an throw it in the alley. They paid her five bucks.

By paying the police chief a large monthly piece of tea money ($10k was the figure that was often quoted)Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 9:32 pmI don't know how they got away with it for so long. I was only there once I think, the smell in there was insane.
Seems like it was lucky to have lasted this long, not sure it matters much if the article names the author or not. It's not like the article prompted the closure, it was after the fact.Lazy feck og wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 7:13 pmAnother gutless anon Khmer Times articlewebmaster wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 6:42 pmOoops: https://www.khmertimeskh.com/50992651/n ... hnom-penh/

The Goa Tourism department has decided to impose a fine of Rs 10,000 for drinking on beaches after several areas were found littered with bottles after the new year celebrations, an official said on Friday.spitthedog wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 6:04 pmdirtymacca wrote: ↑Sun Dec 19, 2021 1:52 pmAbout 2001 I went to Sihanoukville for a few days, we caught up with bar owners Mick and Craig. Their place was certainly not star rated or on the best places to stay list.
After closing time the boys invited us Go-Karting!
We loaded up the van with a couple of bar girls, some beer and headed off into the darkness.
After what seemed like hours driving through paddy fields and other in-hospitable places we saw a flashing light in the distance. As we got closer it turned out to be an old villa with a fence around it.
We stopped at the gate and after a bit of talking from either Mick or Craig the place was suddenly lit up and there was this go kart track in the middle of bum fuck nothing!
There was light rain that night but that added to the fun, one of the girls had a go in the karts, she didn't want to get her clothes wet so she took off her dress and drove around in knickers and bra!
The memory is a bit fuzzy, but I believe the place was owned by a French guy who seemed to like young boys as there was a few around the facility.
Does anyone know anything about the place? The owner? What happened to it and him?
Mick and Craigs burnt down a few years ago, has it risen from the ashes?
Goa is the new old Snooky, peeps. Beach shacks with sand under yer feet, and G&T'S.
Amazing food aswell.
Tea is obviously exchanged to the right people. I mean the fox is open door right there at least sailor kept it behind closed doors. I'm sure it will be back in some shape or form, it probably had one of the highest turnovers $ of bars in Phnom Penh. Constantly people in and out and 10-15 sitting around. And they ain't spinning 0.50c beer or Fox dirt grass in there either.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Tue Dec 21, 2021 9:32 pmI don't know how they got away with it for so long. Maybe the rental just went up because of the incoming tourist boom.
Not necessarily. DoS has been raided and closed down before. The thing with DoS is that it was churning an alleged phenomenal amount of money over.
Red Fox, Pink Elephant, the Pizza joints all use the same dank weed no doubt supplied by some important person in charge of Daun Penh and so are allowed to continue.
DoS did its own thing and hence allegedly paid a hefty mobthly stipend to keep it allowed. Last time it allegedly took a bit more cash and operations soon resumed. Same will happen again I'm sure.
Will be interesting to see if the hotbed of alleged harder drug dealing (coke and MDMA) on 172, the vine and the big easy (not forgetting the cove ) have been paying their dues.
I think the Rusty keyhole reopened in Kep near
Had the famous ribs once 2 years ago, very good.
Fav was downstairs bar at Intercontinental
This is how the powers that be negotiate the new "tax rate". At least that is my guess.Guest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 22, 2021 1:42 am. I'm sure it will be back in some shape or form.
