When will you go "home"
Full of shit because no one with millions would choose to live in Cambodia permanently full stop. Visit occasionally maybe.

Asking for proof is understandable but stupid.
Proving online you have Bitcoins is mental. People in the West have gangs show up at their house, beating them up until they can access the coins. Imagine what target you paint on your head in low income countries..... (everybody from criminals to cops and immigration like to take them)

I agree, it's probably the freedom to have so much time available, still without being rich, that I'm allowed to live here on a budget. I wouldn't mind taking the kids to see all the national parks in the United States eventually.
I know of a few who would disagree.

I know of at least four that could call themselves millionaires but don't. They never work nor worry about anything as they are very comfortable in nice homes with nice cars and eat at decent restaurants travel around the country enjoying themselves but never over indulging. Before covid they would of course slip into Thailand OR Vietnam FOR A HOLIDAY but Cambodia is what they call home. Not all rich people need luxuries. If I know four then I am sure there are many more.
It seems that expats here live such separate lifestyles. Some are completely immersed in the local culture, speak like a native. Others are promoting their various problems, cats and dogs and all that. Some then decide to avoid local problems and live almost as they always have. Just enjoying the weather, attractive locals, and being away from the silly old friends back home who just don't get what you're doing anyway.

Weird that an expat population in Cambodia has diversity just as can be found in all societies.busybee wrote: ↑Thu Dec 16, 2021 3:50 pmIt seems that expats here live such separate lifestyles. Same with locals - how would you know anyone was a millionaire unless they told you?
Just because they drive a new Lexus means nothing. I know of a local who has that, a huge house, flash watches and an expensive wife but owes millions, to various people/banks etc. Same as in the west.
There’s plenty of multi millionaires who are modest and live a low key life. My friend in the UK for example. Sold his company for £350 million and drives a dull Ford Galaxy. His kids have all gone to uni ffs! Doesn’t own anything of worth (apart from his modest house) and is pretty frugal.

Yep Cambodia is just overloaded with unassuming millionaire mongers living their best lives quietly
Nahh, I don’t think so. Well done for not getting the point of the points.

This was a trolling sort of thread in the first place. It's got a lot of people bitching about Cambodia because things didn't work out so well for them here. Some people thrive here, I have friends who have done very well for themselves, of course they will want to stay here because it's where their business is. I wouldn't consider myself one of them as I am a fairly useless cunt but I manage okay.
Some people fuck up badly. What do I mean by that? For example - trying to stab their supposed friends, burglarizing a supposed friend's house, upsetting the wrong people and having to hide with their tail between their legs before rapidly extracting themselves from the environment. I don't care much. What has been interesting in the past couple of years is that some people never really had any commitment to Cambodia or its people, and they have all disappeared like rats off a sinking ship. I might not stay here forever but at least I'm comfortable and not in any hurry to get back to the glamorous west other than for visits. Nuff said.

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

How much did it cost to build or buy your home? Poll.
