Which bars/restaurants are doing better than they were before the pandemic?
There can't be many, but Samaky on Street 51 and 278 seems to be doing very well. I think it helps that a number of nearby bars/restaurants closed down, like Flavours, Blue Dog, Vego, etc.
The restaurant across the street (dont know the name) was closed during Covid. Most places on 278 like Tom Yum Kung (Thai), Ninja / Jidaiya (Japanese), Pen278 (Western) stayed in business during Covid as did the bars. The former Chinese place on the corner with 63 is now a vegan/healthy type of restaurant. Not sure what name it has. Vego is gone as is an Indian restaurant. The one with a combined travel office seems to have moved.
The street was sealed off a few times during the pandemic as a hotel there was used to quarantaine incoming passengers.

I'd say Olala is doing OK too. Cheers/Paddy Rice is closed, Mekong River is closed, Riverside Bistro closed, other riverside bars and restaurants closed, not as much competition.
Damn. Paddy Rice will be missed.
I'm happy to read that olala is ok as it's one of the very few places open after midnight
