August covid wave
In the last 10 days I’ve heard from three completely unrelated acquaintances in PP that their household has the covids in. And I don’t even know that many people here.
Anyone here been under the weather lately? It feels like this might be the biggest wave to date.

I heard from a few people that just had Covid. But then, the official figures were always a joke,

It's endemic, and no big deal, don't even need to isolate under who guidelines anymorenerdlinger wrote: ↑Sun Aug 07, 2022 6:44 pmIn the last 10 days I’ve heard from three completely unrelated acquaintances in PP that their household has the covids in. And I don’t even know that many people here.

reporting and counting covid is about as useful as counting who has a cold or a flu - only good for statisticians
In Europe there also was an uptick despite the weather being mild this time of year. As long as hospitals do not get overwhelmed I'm not too scared. Only fearing the lockdowns or horrid quarantine camps here in Cambodia. In the first lockdown round we nearly got our door kicked in as we played the "not home" game after a hotel in our street tested positive and they wanted to test the whole street.
Right now I know of some people who got infected. Official figures are useless. Last time Pchum Ben was a major spreading event which authorities denied/did not publish about. Guess what, it is almost here again and everybody travels around the country (many mask less, especially after some beers). That time we had to close business as staff returned back infected and we all got it.

Are you trying to get the sheep scared again? Next thing you know they will be forcing everyone to wear masks and playing Russian Roulette vaccinating their kids while calling out anybody who doesn't follow their example.
It was funny watching them run around like headless chickens squawking about how amazing they were protecting society.

Yes, 6.5 million dying was hilarious.

Where did it I write I was laughing at people dying? I was laughing at you and your covid buddies!
You all blindly followed what you were told and anybody who slightly disagreed with the official line you were very condescending to.

Yes, it's all a conspiracy. Thanks for your amazing intuition.

You all better get your fourth, fifth and sixth booster shots to be safe.
Not one recent COVID death here

More people are infected by mosquito-borne diseases every year than covid affected in the 2 years it's been around.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 4:04 amYes, it's all a conspiracy. Thanks for your amazing intuition.
I find it's refreshing that so many people think the measures taken during the so-called pandemic where appropriate, and all the government spending on on covid counter measures were justified.
Personally I don't think so.

That may well turn out to be true, it’s looking that way.Frycek Edzio wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 8:52 amMore people are infected by mosquito-borne diseases every year than covid affected in the 2 years it's been around.Lucky Lucan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 08, 2022 4:04 amYes, it's all a conspiracy. However, we’ll never know what would have happened if the governments did nothing and just let it do it’s thing.
Interestingly I’ve a friend who’s anti vaccine of all types. Often going off on one about them and us fuck the pharma industry etc.
All his kids have had zero jabs and he refuses to give them drugs preferring herbal. To be fair they are healthy but that’s more to do with genetics.
Anyway, one day he mentioned his cat was sick and I asked what was wrong, me being a cat owner.
“Oh got some virus. She’s had all her shots and we did some more down the vets today, just to be safe, plus some anti inflammatory and antibiotics jabs”
“Dude, WTF?”
“What, I love my cat”
