Short term renting
Hi all. In Cambodia for 4 months, looking to rent, as long term it is cheaper than hotels... Everywhere I look for rental properties there is a minimum of 6 month or 1 year contracts. Just wondering if renting houses/apartments for a month then moving onto the next is a possibility?

Does that link address his question of how to rent a place for four months when most listings say 6 month or 1 year minimum?

Unfortunately not... Very helpful guide nonetheless, and I will surely make use of it. Thanks Vladimir. Any insight on short term rentals appreciated if anyone could enlighten me?
Negotiate with landlord, kind of obvious? In my experience, if you find a replacement tenant, no landlord will penalise you.Barangnang wrote: ↑Tue Jun 18, 2019 7:25 pmUnfortunately not... They prefer long rentals and thus min. 6 or 12 months in listings. If building is not too busy, landlords usually are ok for 3-6 months contracts too. Just be prepared to pay 20-40% extra.
One of the reasons is that every time a lease is registered at the sangkat, the owner pays a fee.rogerrabbit wrote: ↑Sun Aug 21, 2022 12:08 amThey prefer long rentals and thus min. 6 or 12 months in listings. And as in most other countries, people prefer to avoid contact unless it's absolutely necessary.
