A small cooling fan and $300 are the biggest differences between the new 13-inch MacBook Air and a 13-inch MacBook Pro.
"A little-known fact about today’s CPUs: they can almost all run far faster if you give them better cooling. A CPU’s thermal design power (TDP) in watts is a better predictor of performance than its gigahertz clock speed ... until they heat up. In a small, fanless chassis, they have to throttle down quickly, but they can go for longer in a larger or better-cooled one."

Everything from crApple has always been an overpriced gimmick. People flock to that crap.
Why do Apple products bring out the bile and hatred in people?
You never hear people say “Those Dells are fucking shit and people who buy them are stupid” or “Samsung phones are for imbeciles who like spending too much on CRAP FUCKING PHONES!!!!”
“Windows. Shit. LINUX. SHIT. FUCKING SHIT!!!”
It’s a wonder. It really is.

Maybe partially an economic issue. People who can't afford it then resort to bitchin about it just to show that they didn't really want one anyway.YaTingPom wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 10:47 amWhy do Apple products bring out the bile and hatred in people?

I swing both ways (ahem). I have used apple before and still have one device. But have moved on to alternatives now for laptop and phone - for various reasons. But you just can't beat their user friendliness (like if my mother can learn how to use one fairly proficiently...) and their longevity.
I’m an Apple fanboi (got a 2008 MacBook. Battery is gone but it still works well). I’ve also had Android and Windows phones but I just think the IOS is better on Apple, and as you say easy to use.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Mon Jun 28, 2021 10:53 amMaybe partially an economic issue. Don’t get me started on Linux fanbois. They’re like the Mac user of the 90s, who really were nerdy bores.

You can probably call it "pro" yourself if you earn an income with it, whether it has a built-in fan or not.
I had a Pro. No USB port. Rubbish idea.

Nothing is better than opening a crusty new MacBook in the third world with your brand new job, doing good for society one jet ride at a time. Don't forget to wear your Krama.
Where’s this third world you speak of?

I believe he is referring to the non-aligned countries during the Cold War era. I'm guessing he is rather old.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
