Govn’t Warns Enterprise Owners Recruiting Foreign Workers without Working Permits
Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 20 - The Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training issued a joint Prakas to punish the owners or directors of any enterprises who recruit foreign workers without a working permit, according to the Inter-Ministerial Prakas on the implementation of the labor inspection of foreign workers dated on Monday.
"Owners or directors of any enterprises, institutions , casinos, or any clubs that accept foreign workers to work without working permits is subject to fine under Chapter 16 of the Labor Law, Chapter 5 of the Penal Code and the Eviction of Chapter 16 of the Immigration Law”, the Prakas stated.
Meanwhile, for any owners that respects and complies with the laws, the two ministries will issue a letter of appreciation as an encouragement.
