Cambodian movie being released on Netflix

I never saw Jailbreak when it was in cinemas here but have been wanting to. This is good news.

I don't know if it is this Wednesday or next. Today I guess.
Jailbreak, the genre-busting Cambodian film that opened last year to critical acclaim both at home and abroad has earned another honour: Come Wednesday, the film will be making its Netflix debut.

Are there any expats in it, like City of Ghosts?
Maybe Jimmy can do a movie about expats in Cambodia.

As far as I know it is local actors and a Thai and/or Khmerican. No pale faces.
Just started watching. I like the directing and cinematography. Much of the acting is B/C grade but things will improve in the industry in time.

Playboy's role in the movie is way too big though.

In the clip a guy dives towards the camera and the camera follows him upside down. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that before.
I used to watch a lot of Hong Kong movies as a kid (My uncle worked for Chris Patten in office) and loved the fight scenes, especially the ones using cables and the cinematography of those classic 90s HK movies.

I went to see The Matrix and my heart sank - although it was a game changer - because I knew Hollywood would start using those HK effects to the point of saturation. Which they did. :-(

Saw this in the cinemas last year. Really set the bar high.for local productions. Not what one would expect here. Amazing fight choreography and actually quite tongue in cheek and funny. Well worth a look.

haha yeah i just watched the trailer and at the end theres a scene with Peak Mi in, hes a funny Khmer Comedian

Lol. Yeah, I’ve seen that dude.
I prefer the older guy, Grim/Gream or something. Always in sped up movies for songs.
I saw him on a video for the transport ministry about getting his licence. I think he just happened to be there when they were filming.
