Giant Ibis Bus Crashes
Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
** First reports spoke of injuries, but others say nobody was hurt.
Pretty unusual for Giant Ibis, I thought they had a pretty exemplary track record versus some of the other bus disasters we've seen. I know they track their driver speeds, etc. so would hope that they'd remain one of bus companies least likely to hire a psychotic "run away" driver treating his bus like an F1 car.

I've been using GI since they started. They were pretty darn good in the beginning but I feel services have been slipping with more dangerous driving, drivers picking up and dropping goods/people en route, the speech about fastening seat belts being absent, etc.Spigzy wrote:** First reports spoke of injuries, but others say nobody was hurt.

Are there any good companies left? I use cambodia post from time to time, along with GI and Mekong express. I’d say them three are all much the same.Hanno wrote:I've been using GI since they started. I still believe that Giant Ibis is hands down the safest bus. As far as I know, they’re the only bus with a driver and alternate on call that swap out to minimize driving time to avoid fatigue related accidents. I drive in Cambodia, but this is my go to when I head to Saigon and never had an issue.
Driving to the border, dumping the car, and jumping in a pre-arranged taxi to complete the journey is a better (safer) way of doing it.Miguelito wrote:but this is my go to when I head to Saigon and never had an issue.
