Not yet. Royal hospital has permission to privately import the Western brands. I hear they expect to start by the end of the month at $350 per jab.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 3:40 pmRegular folks are not paying extra to get different types of vaccine.

These people don't know anything about different vaccines.Expatissimo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 10:12 am@ raendi. None of the people i know paid anything for the vaccine in Kampot..... None, whatsoever. So the conclusion of your claim is that perhaps they asked for a particular type like Pfizer, Moderna etc. which they perhaps got in a private clinic, Hospital etc.
The Kampot referral and the Vaccination (School at new bridge) aswell as the Sonja Kill Memorial Hospital did not charge anyone for the current Sinopharm, Sinovac Vaccines.
So perhaps you can find out more details where they got the jab and what vaccine type it was. That would clear up things a bit and leave less room for unnecessary speculation.
Can't be private since they know it should be free. This happen east of Kampot province near vietnam border other members of this family get their vaccine free in north of province.
Just get more info that they were told if they don't pay they have to come next day, so get in front with $$$ Some other people have paid there also.
Pardon my engrish, thanks you.
@raendi. So i understand they bribed the security staff to get ahead of the line while others had to wait ? Many people that i know that got their jabs at the Kampot City referral hospital also had to come back a day later because the staff was simply overwhelmed by the mass of people. Some even sent family members to get hold of a number so they did not have to wait at the hospital where social distancing was basically impossible. I am glad we got that one cleared now.
Migrant workers allowed to go back home after 14 days of quarantine. I really pittie these people that left the country in order to make some money in Thailand. Working conditions there are everything but ideal, Cambodians share that plight with their brothers/sisters from Myanmar,Laos and beyond. This video clip shows what little if any posessions they have. Now they return to their family homes which are mostly in rural areas. Gone is the income for the family and now they became an extra burden for those that stayed behind. Many Thai's from the border region near Poipet try their luck the other way around in order to work at Casinos at the Cambodian side. Many are caught and sent back. With all these people deprived of income, work and a perspective of what the future might hold for them i am worried how this will play out for all of us in Cambodia. Add the Delta Version of the Virus which now has reached most of the country including Kep and more than a thousand people arrested in PP almost every night for breaking the curfew things don't look good. To the credit of the Cambodian Gov. i must say that it handeled the Pandemic , rollout of Vaccine etc. without a glitch. Thailand and Vietnam are struggeling and come autumn we may see Europe going downhill yet again.
I paid $20 for ticket number 1, next time 10Expatissimo wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 4:22 pm@raendi. So i understand they bribed the security staff to get ahead of the line while others had to wait ? I’d pay $100 but that’s a bit rich.

Surely the price will come down in upcoming months as demand reduces in western countries.
I understand that they are selling knock-off vaccines in Russian market now. AZ $2.5 or 3 for a Pfizer.
Knockoff as in fake, saline?ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 11:20 amYeah, I thought the same.YaTingPom wrote: ↑Sun Aug 15, 2021 10:37 amLol. $350!Alexandra wrote: ↑Fri Aug 13, 2021 3:50 pmNot yet. I would definitely not pay more than 50 dollars for a Pfizer or Moderna. 350 dollars is just a rip-off in extremely bad taste... Wholesale, the vaccines are around 20 dollars a pop for Pfizer and up to 30 to 35 for Moderna, lol... Shit heels with beamers and mercs. Fuck you all!
I got my vaccine, Sinopharm, for free on Monday in Sihnanoukville...
Anyway, I had no difficulty getting inside along with all the locals after consulting with the gatekeepers from the Bureau of Health. Aside from a few Chinese, I was the only foreigner on Monday, August 2nd, getting the shot. There were only young people, between 16 and 30 or so. The older ones are all done, mostly by now.
Others were not so lucky getting in however. I know one restaurateur from Mumbai who was denied because he did not have a work permit along with his EB visa... He told me that the officials wanted 200 dollars from him to get the same shot I got for free... But with my ER visa, it was easy sailing...

Pfizer actually dropped the price, but they still make money.
Private clinics in the US charge $200 per dose so $350 isn’t that outrageous considering the cost of shipping.
Still way too much.

Kampot, got my second jab today. All went smooth like the first shot. I was the only Barang and everyone, really everyone including the khmer waiting in line were really nice and helpfull. When it was my turn it was a matter of minutes and i got my updated Vaxx Card. I admit that i did not want to get vaccinated at first because in my mind we're all guinea pigs and will really know what does and doesn't work (or side effects) in a few years from now. The facts that finally convinced me to go ahead was that i simply do not want to end up in any hospital during the current pandemic. In Kampot you will end up at the Kampot Referral Hospital which in my mind will not be suitable for most westerners due to the lack of service. In Cambodia Family Members take care of you in the Hospital and they usually stay there with you at all times. They bring the food, wash you etc. As a single Barang it's really hopeless. Usually lights are switched on during night , too so don't expect to get any relaxing sleep. And beware of your valuables, if you have any.
I also believe that ICU's are in short supply here. Don't forget where you are ! This isn't the HoityToity first class Hospital that will rob you blind like available in most western countries. Or perhaps a bit closer the Bumrungrad and Bangkok Hospital in Bangkok...............................you can't go there anywhere right now. So getting Vaxxed and staying put is my only advise. A bit boring after such a long period but healthier than travelling around. And cheaper , too.
