Big C plans rapid expansion as first Phnom Penh store launched

Thailand-based grocery and general merchandising retailer – Big C – will embark on a rapid expansion over the next five years planning to open 350 stores across the country and creating thousands of local jobs.

great idea if its a Big C superstore not the mini C ( which is more like a 3rd rate 7/11)

Let's hope the choice of merchandise matches the stores in Thailand .... not Vietnam. Big C is also in Vietnam but the merchandise is everything but BIG C.

I think 350 stores across Cambodia is a little ambitious, they only have 35 in all of VN with a population about 10 times greater!

I believe Big C has only big hypermarkets and supermarket size stores in Vietnam. In Cambodia they plan to have both small convenience stores and big stores.
