Where to buy squat shoes?
Where to buy squat shoes?
Is there any place in PP to buy squat/weightlifting shoes?
Have been looking everywhere but haven't found any yet..

Decathlon is probably your best bet in town, but I think squat shoes are even too specialist for them even. Just do it barefoot, problem solved!

The Adidas shops don’t carry weightlifting shoes but they should have some decent flat ones. The only problem is that they’re fake and probably cost as much as ordering weightlifting shoes from Amazon.

The Adidas shops has fake gear?
As in the adidas shops in the Aeons?
They are pretty pricey for fake clobber.
Yeah, that stuff is $200+ and mostly street wear rather than functional sports wear.
I expect your knees will go based on genes, mileage and age more than the rubber in your shoes.

For regular running, yes, for trail running it is twisting on a rock, slipping down a slope etc that will bring you to grief. Hence the need for harder soles and stronger grip. In Cambodia dry paddy fields are real ankle & Knee busters if you attack them at good pace with the wrong footwear.
Interestingly that doesn't necessarily mean more expensive, you just need the quality.
You definitely need a good tread for when the rainy season comes (found some I like in Decathalon, Aeon 2). I just accept the fact I need to slow down for the bumpy fields, etc. Regardless of the shoe, my ankles can only take so much (although, much better since balance training).

I don’t understand this.Steve Zodiac wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 12:21 pmChrist on a stick & I thought the yoga/lactose intolerant, gluten free vegan crowd were trendy (I bet you have an iPhone).
Is trail running believed to be trendy? Running must be one of the cheapest sports to take part in. The only real expense is shoes and these can range anywhere from $30 to $200.
Clearly a comment from someone who has never been for a long run.
When you are 15k in and the stomach cramps start and you are looking for a semi private place to have a sneaky shit - you feel far from trendy.
When you return home and strip off for a shower, returning to your sweaty clothes 30 mins later you feel disgusted with the smell wafting off your clothes. You feel far from trendy.
This applies to most expats, even without running 15kmផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 12:41 pm

Yes, trail runners are known to be trendy fashionista types. Ask any Hash House Harrier and they will confirm it.Steve Zodiac wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 12:21 pmChrist on a stick & I thought the yoga/lactose intolerant, gluten free vegan crowd were trendy (I bet you have an iPhone).

They are official Adidas shops with real products, I don't know why someone would claim the contrary. It's the same group with a number of fashion lines here, as well as other sectors - it's a respectable group.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Sat Feb 27, 2021 9:01 pmThe Adidas shops has fake gear?

That’s what I thought. The MW group is a pretty serious operation.Miguelito wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:19 amThey are official Adidas shops with real products, I don't know why someone would claim the contrary.
