Believe me when I say I’m not elitist and know damn well you are smarter than me
What happened at southbridge?
I make too many stupid decisions to call myself smart. Don’t think it’s necessarily that, I was just fortunate to start early.
And there’s no way I’m going back to school now in my 30s.

How much longer for what? Till she gets a degree or till life becomes shit?
I doubt very much that Alexandria is studying for a degree as what she knows blows most university education away, but yeah, she may well be studying for a degree because she is bored not because she needs one.
Second question is pure trolling and not at all nice.
How many of us know how much longer any of the good life will last? One blink of the eye and all shit could happen! However, I am sure with her skills no matter what happened she would bounce back.

k440, something to do when you're pissed.
I always found the strangest thing about Vlad was, that despite his longevity in Cambodia and the educational system he worked in, he had never risen any higher than he did, which was not very high, how he wasn't a deputy head or headmaster of some school. I guess that a SA degree doesn't hold much water here.Aurelius wrote: ↑Fri Sep 15, 2023 1:44 pmviolet wrote: ↑Thu Sep 14, 2023 12:41 amVlad once declared I didn’t have a degree. Repeating this incorrect accusation against a few people has me wondering if he’s projecting.Aurelius wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 12:38 pmIn one post our beloved vlad makes four accusations against me:
1) pedophilia
2) supporting child killers
3) supporting land grabbers
4) not having a degree
That last one is outrageous. There was once a time when such an accusation would have earned a permanent ban on 440.
It’s such a weird thing for him to say, though, for so many reasons. How would he know anyone’s educational achievements, and why make such a weird claim so boldly when the person he thinks he is attacking can refute it so easily?
And if it was true, why would he think it’s an insult?
I feel embarrassed for him, and almost embarrassed to say that I have a degree, because it sounds defensive on my part to say it.
But this is the level the strange man reduces one too.

He was some sort of manager at the Banana Center about 17 years ago.

By basic stats someone who was good and stayed here (especially having held a management role in circa 2006) would be running CIA or similar.
I know there are jokes and probable factual rumours about being handsy with the staff later on, but that wasn't his usual MO.
Or was he like Playboy and became unemployable due to their online persona comments?
one would have imagined a springboard to bigger things? what happened over the next 17 that didn't lead him to a promotion?Mike Farce wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 4:12 pmHe was some sort of manager at the Banana Center about 17 years ago.

Playboy became unemployable because there were no positions available for hermits. Vlad is just generally unlikable.
PB was offered several jobs but deemed them beneath him. I know of at least one 440 member who offered him a job around $3000 a month but PB sniffed at it. There were several more. He made himself unemployable by thinking he could still get the sort of jobs he had when he first arrived, the sort of jobs that helped him cultivate his image as a senior exec. He couldn’t.
Vlad isn’t unlikeable. But I suspect his propensity to be able to get into an argument in an empty room is a factor in his jobs rarely lasting more than a few months.

Pretty sure 2005 was when I first met Vlad at NWI ( I may be wrong on the year) and a most unlikable fella he was, racist, misogynistic, and just plain nasty. The only person more disagreeable in that staff room was American ( former soldier) John . Both thought they were the dogs bollocks in teaching and as annoying as fuck. What happen to John? Was also the time when I first met Hanky. Pete/KIR I had worked with previously at APIS and then there was Ali the fattest junky Cambodia has ever known ( totally cleaned up his act now and a marathon runner living in the states with a beautiful Khmer wife). Tim the DJ was also there ( he died about 10 years ago). The alcoholic Vietnam tunnel Rat, who was actually a good teacher , was another till he slipped in the shower and banged his head. Quite a collection of Phnom Penh's finest (teachers!) and many more.Mike Farce wrote: ↑Sat Sep 16, 2023 4:12 pmHe was some sort of manager at the Banana Center about 17 years ago.
