The video is a bit overwhelming, so much to take in one, and no-one to tell my pronunciation is less than clear

There used to be a casual group meeting on Saturdays, in a pub or something, with volunteer teachers teaching basics - does it still exist? If so, anyone knows details of the meetings?
It would be nice to pick up some words and meet international community here who are not totally drunk or stoned out of their minds. Taking formal classes seem too early, besides, they tend to be filled with missionaries because most people go to work during the day.

Never had much success at conquering even the simplest phrases while in Cambodia. In contrast while in India, I found saying and remembering phrases and numbers quite easy.

Recall years ago coming across an Irish lad speaking fluent Khmer, to the point where he had a captivated local audience that were in awe of his ability.
