What percentage of your income do you spend on drink?

I spend about 10%/month. Probably too much.
This is not about bragging, purely for statistics and interests
So yes, we know certain people brag about their drinks, but let's keep it at a percentage, and no figures about income or digital financial dick-size, please.

If you earn $1500 a month and only spending $150 - you have a job problem.
If your earning $20,000 a month and spending $2000 then you may have a drinking problem.
If your spending $150 on your hard earned cash on 75c domestic piss or Bukky then you have an issue.
If you're spending that on a bottle of wine at the the end of the month you are a player and Miggles probably wants to bum you while you discuss portfolios.

So small, may as well say 0%. I miss a good pint of Guinness whenever I could get overseas, otherwise I tended only to have a couple on a Friday night & that was that. Without any social, it's pretty much zero.

Is that partly an age thing dude?
I find turning over 50 brings on a somewhat mildly drunk feeling even before any consumption of alcoholic beverages.

Still the right side of 50 by some margin thanks! Never been a drinker, even in my late 20s & 30s- all that clubbing/booze stuff was out of my system by the time I turned 25 I reckon.spitthedog wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 6:02 pmIs that partly an age thing dude?

My X-wife's mom had a shot of Jaegermeister every evening. So technically an alcoholic. What is it now? Less than 21 standard drinks less than 4 days a week, or so.
I was spending $600-$1K monthly on drinking in New York City in my 20's, seemed like a good idea at the time. Good old binge days with 10+ drinks. Instead of drinking, I wonder how nice $600 per month invested for 10 years at average market performance would look like.
My drinking habits now and using Cambodia costs/wages would be under 1% closer to 0%.

Alcohol or just drinks?
Normally I'd probably spend more on coffee than on booze.
This month I've spent more on fruit juice than on booze.
But in normal course of business on booze < 5% for 2 adults in household.

I was buying that in LIDL last time I was in Ireland, it was cheap but more like €1.49? ( I just looked that price up as I can't remember exactly but I remember it was cheap.)Hanno wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 6:16 pmNot a bad beer, especially at the price (EUR 0.60 in Germany).spitthedog wrote: ↑Sat May 15, 2021 3:54 pmOnly had 1 beer all week due to work.
