We used to live in the house just up from the beach, which has now turned into some kind of Italian restaurant. There also used to be two more western restaurants close to the beach, but they're all closed now I think. Something will probably open up there again.Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 26, 2022 2:30 pmYou will miss places to have a meal unless ur into khmer food or Italian

Yea, lots closed, there some shitty khmer restaurants near the old beach and of course those near the crab market, all the old western ones closed
so far, foreign tourists (other than day trippers) have not returned to kep>
its deader than a doorknob on week days here
there even building a zip line from the the north end of kep beach up to the mtn.(700 meters) with what looks like buildings for restaurants along the beach
"We are turning into a nation of whimpering slaves to Fear—fear of war, fear of poverty, fear of random terrorism, or suddenly getting locked up in a military detention camp on vague charges of being a Terrorist sympathizer." HST
I would love to see pictures of the Zip line(s).
A friend has put up a few in Cambodia - not the commercial ones in Siem Reap, and I considered putting 1 or 2 at my farm, but the effort and investment has scared me off so far. My friend recommended 2nd hand Japanese elevator cables, and a Swiss acquaintance was using donated oil well cabling for suspension bridges (he put up about 10 around Cambodia), but $4k-$8k for Japanese cable, in Japan, not including shipping, seemed a lot of cash for an improbable 'if you build it, they will come" gamble.
Nevertheless, riding them through jungle clad mountains IS a rush!
P.S. Anyone know if the Siem Reap ones are currently in operation? (Or for sale?)
