Night activities in Phnom Penh (bars, etc)
Night activities in Phnom Penh (bars, etc)
Last time I was in Phnom Penh, I think I only went out at night like twice. Once was I think Garage Bar and then a girlie bar, the other time may have also been Garage Bar, and then I went to a night market. I loved it! I'm a night owl and usually at my peak when it's dark. When I land in Phnom Penh at like 10:30pm Saturday December 3rd I'll likely want to get out. Any recommendations for a good Saturday night bar where one can talk to people? Or anything going on that night?
Just in general, what is there to do at night currently? Any meet ups or parties? Best bars and shopping?

I can’t contribute much given the time since I left, howeverNirvana wrote: ↑Tue Nov 15, 2022 5:49 amLast time I was in Phnom Penh, I think I only went out at night like twice. Oscar’s bar is generally a good bet - meet locals, visitors, listen to music, dance
Leng Pleng (live music events) - in absence of finding it elsewhere, rozzieoz usually copy pasted each week on the other forum
Meet ups and parties - there are long term expats I think you know who gather together socially either in bars etc or at their apartments. In terms of street music events, I’m no longer on top of what is going on - I’m not sure they get mentioned in Leng Pleng. There used to be groups on FB
Identify some of the bars mentioned in Leng Pleng then follow them on FB - they will have different events on other nights that aren’t music
The Box Office usually has events both musical and not
If you want a more club experience, someone else may be able to assist - never my scene really
Botanico wine & beer garden often has trivia, music, etc and is a good place to meet and talk with people. Follow them on FB for what’s coming up.
Saturday night 3 December after 10.30pm where you can talk and it’s a good bar? Talk loudly at Oscar’s.
Not sure if that outdoor area of restaurants with loud music is still going (my memory is vague - think it was up near National Assembly)
Meta House might have something on

Try this place also (those running it are friendly and have good English) - https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063718741748
If you like metal music there’s an expat venue others can tell you about
As I say, I can’t help much beyond this but thought I’d at least try to give some pointers rather than leave you hanging

Thank you so much, I appreciate the response. I remember just sitting there not doing much at night last time, as if everything shut down, and I don't want to do that again!
Hey Nirvana - how did your visit back to Cambodia go?
Was hoping that we would see a report or something..............

Drinks are free?
There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see. ~ Leonardo da Vinci
I had a look at chug lab and it seems as though it is not open too often.
Just seeing this! My visit was fantastic, I had a blast and even saw Koh Rong. I even did some shots with bar girls too!
I'd think nobody would be interested but I could write about some highlights, like when I got way too high smoking weed at a Khmer beer garden or was basically accidentally kidnapped by a tuk tuk driver who looks like the Khmer Jonah Hill.
