$1m+ Poker tournament at Nagaworld
The World Poker Tour (WPT) is gearing up for its next stop as thousands will be making the trip to WPT Prime Cambodia next week. The live poker tournament series is hosted at the beautiful Nagaworld Integrated Resort, Phnom Penh and runs from March 9-21.
It is the third WPT Prime festival of the year, with the stop at Paris already completed while WPT Prime Gold Coast is currently underway Down Under. Fabrice Bigot took down the WPT Prime Paris Main Event last month and then followed that up with a third-place finish in the EPT Paris Main Event just a few days ago.
With buy-ins varying from $110 to $10,000, events are suited for all types of poker players. The schedule is also packed with exciting events, which include but are not limited to Pot-Limit Omaha, Short Deck, and Mystery Bounty tournaments.
The poker festival is headlined by the $1,100 buy-in WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event. There are plenty of satellite tournaments on the run-up to the series' showstopper, so there are ample opportunities to get into the Main Event on the cheap.
The Main Event kicks off on March 16 and comes with a $500,000 guarantee. There are three starting flights before Day 2 gets going on March 19. The plan is for the field to be whittled down to the final table, and a winner will be crowned the following day.
Last year's WPT Prime Cambodia Main Event shattered previous WPT Prime records as it attracted 1.050 entries and created a whopping prize pool of $1,018,500.
The Philippines' David Erquiaga claimed victory at the stop in 2022 and pocketed the $137,008 set aside for the winner. With a live poker boom underway, there is a good chance that this edition will surpass the previous figures.
