Beerlao IPA
Had a bottle of Beerlao IPA at Box Office and it was surprisingly good. How long has this been around? The Texas BeerWine Store on 294 have it in stock and I think it was $26 case/24. No have at 7-11. I think any bar looking for more customers should consider selling this beer.

Thumbsup from me. Bottled Beer Lao is the biz, very drinkable stuff either normal or IPA.

I use to love going to Vientiane on visa runs especially when Thaksin was in power as they were free, seeing all the office workers girls and boys at lunchtime eating various Larbs and other Lao dishes, with the yellow trolley next to the table loaded up with Beer Lao and ice buckets!

In & Out Market (NE corner 51/294) have ice cold bottles of Beerlao IPA for a bargain price of $1.50. This, along with great air conditioning and an ample supply of Tong Garden Cashews, makes In & Out Market a very appealing travel stop-over.

What other type is there in South-East Asia?wolf wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 11:33 amBeer Lao is ok if you like rice beer....
Just a wild guess but barley? Many beers and not just ones from SEA use rice in addition to barley but not normally to the complete exclusion of it.
Rice in beer making has been used for a long time around the world - not that many are great beerswolf wrote: ↑Sat Jan 13, 2024 11:33 amBeer Lao is ok if you like rice beer....
The United States have Budweiser, Bud Light
Japan has Hitachino, Asahi, Sapporo, Kirin, China has Tsing Tao, Singapore has Tiger, Spain has Estrella
Lot's of craft breweries in Oz are using rice.
Beer Lao is still one of my favourites.

you can add a few hundred along with those - just making the point that it is more common than people think. It isn't as if the main ingredient is rice - it isn't!
Peroni, I think. Nice drop.
Edit: Isn't. Wondered why it was on the gluten-free shelves.
