An unusual relic of the distant past was recently unearthed as a local farmer was tending his rice fields, with what is believed to be a tenth century sword, found in the Reaksa commune of Rovieng in Preah Vihear and handed over to authorities.
The intricate carving on the pommel, hilt and top of the blade might suggest the sword belonged to nobility, but it needs expert examination and cleaning to determine its identity. What looks to be a face of Rahu appears at the top or pommel end of the steel blade amidst a series of engravings, including dancing figures on the blade itself.
Its length is just under 100 centimeters and its appearance is a reminder that the country’s royal regalia, Cambodia’s Crown Jewels, and a priceless pearl and gold-encrusted ceremonial sacred sword (known as Preah Khan Reach) vanished in 1970.

Isn’t that the one that kills the Zombies in ‘The Evil Dead’?
There are three classes of people: those who see, those who see when they are shown, those who do not see. ~ Leonardo da Vinci

Does anyone have a link to this story from anything resembling a reliable source? Fascinating, but can't find it anywhere.

Bringing the news. You stay classy, nas, Cambodia.
It must have some magical powers as it is in pretty good condition for something that has lay in the rice field for so many years and has evaded the plow and water buffalo hooves for all that time without even getting a scratch on it.
