It’s not fair to compare current Thai prices to prices in countries where it’s been legal for a long time.
Thailand legalized what, 2 days ago? Until then local production and importing was coupled with extreme legal risk and high costs. Surely the prices will come down with time as local production picks up and availability increases.
I’m more impressed that they stocked their shelves and setup shop over night.

I haven't read up on this in detail but see extracts must be 0.2% or under...so all hashish is out, right?
How about edibles - those little jelly sweeties etc?
Lastly a friend of mine doesn't like smoke so she melts it in a little bit of butter and pours it in a yoghurt....I know it's unlikely anyone is going to kick your door down and catch you at the stove, but that's technically illegal (fact is she cooks it up with a lighter and a spoon which is a terrible look)?

Correct
Hash, hash oil, eatables are ALL extracts and illegal>
Buds/flowers are legal ( for now)
as to making butter to make cookies, ad to food<
if you do it in ur own home, whose going to know? BUT technically its an extract and....
they have opened a huge black hole
https://www.bangkokpost.com/thailand/sp ... -that-high
in a nutshell
What they have done is remove MJ from list of narcotic drugs, by Health Dept but no law yet on what is legal /illegal use. Cannabis and Hemp Act law is in process of being drafted but will probably be at least 30 days or more from being passed. They state: "Flowers and buds have high THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) and must be classified as narcotic drugs. Under the bill, flowers and buds will be regulated. But because the bill is not passed into law yet, the Foreign Ministry has some concerns when it has to explain the issue to INCB and Asean countries. "

I'm thinking those and many other shelves had been stocked for a while using encrypted messaging apps like Telegram doing a bustling business delivering bud prior to opening the doors. In any case the flower my Thai friends have grown here has been a level above what I've purchased in that Candyland bistro. As far as thc% everyone for sure is guessing based on whatever seed/strain/clone info was given them by their seed/clone source. This is a pic of Future#1 grown by a local here.

I saw Hash on the Candyland menu for 600B a gram last week. I think hashish needs better clarification as to what constitutes a concentrate versus an oil derived extract. For example you can make hash out of pressed bits of flower or kief which is hardly the same process as a solvent/solventless based oil extraction. Have not tried any edibles here but have seen them on the above mentioned menu in cookie form not jellies. Gonna go back later and will take a closer look at the hash and edible menu. Def agree that anything involving a burnt spoon is a bad look.RobW wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 7:20 amI haven't read up on this in detail but see extracts must be 0.2% or under...so all hashish is out, right?

Two pics of White Widow here as I wanted to do a comparison between Candyland vs a local grower friend. Both cost exactly the same, 500b a gram. Both are good but the Candyland nug pales in comparison to the bud a local grew here. Size-wise the first nug is about half a gram and the 2nd is almost 3 grams.

500b a gram is correct @kinard. About $15 a gram for indoor grown. Candyland has sungrown bud on their menu for about half that. I tried it and it was NOT pleasant to taste but did the job. This market is in it's infancy so i would expect prices to fluctuate a bit and hopefully in a downward direction.kinard wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 1:33 pmI'm mostly chuffin' on 20-24% and find that too strong. It did the job? Doesn't the weed you can legally buy in Thailand have such a low THC content that it can't get you stoned?Sonic1 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 12, 2022 1:46 pm500b a gram is correct @kinard. this is a serious grow operation:
thailand
sonic; u mention grms of hash at 500baht/ and grms of weed at same
how can that be. when we made hash from shake/pollen it was 10 to 1
since hash is made by extracting and processing the resin glands, (Kief) leads me to believe its illegal.
even by ur definition its still extracting , "pressed bits of flower or kief which is hardly the same process as a solvent/solventless based oil extraction" ( remember we are dealing with governments
BUT hopefully you will still be able to grow ur own, BUT it wont legally be able to be sold on the market
Candyland in Pattaya, advertises they will deliver via kerry express anywhere in thailand

whatever, bet it doesn't last but a few months till they vote on it an push reverse their decision.helps to remember that there are only two options: cannabis that’s been dried, cured, and decarboxylated (basically, plant matter and trichomes together), and cannabis concentrate (trichomes that have been separated from the plant matter). EXTRACTED
So no matter what someone else calls it, if it’s dried and cured bud, it’s marijuana. If it’s in another form — such as hash — it’s a concentrate.
BUT hopefully you will still be able to grow ur own, BUT it wont legally be able to be sold on the market
