The Future of the US Dollar
Such nihilistic comment, would only warrant a 'big stick' further.

By the big stick comments I presume you mean taxes need to be paid in dollars or you're going to prison. How much tax has Zucklebum paid on his 76 billion, do you think?
Up the workers!
Taxes are a necessary evil, to keep any state running. The tax laws, are a product of the capabilities of that nations defense, and tactical skill level.
Zuckerberg will be paying taxes, the same day you will be buying bananas at the local market at $1, a piece.

Talking of government debt, did you know that we now have a perfect storm of both government and private debt? A situation that has never occurred before in US history.
Both inflated to such great volume that all it needs is one wafer-thin mint...
Oh, hang on, it's not just the US.

You know, this Modern (1905) Monetary Theory is brilliant, isn't it? If you think about it, we can forget the climate crisis. In twenty years time, we'll all be living on Mars on a million dollars a week surrounded by women with enormous bosoms.

Yeah, now it's just a matter of time, before the US government defaults, given the idiots' spending habits, which started trying to buy popularity by creating economic growth based on increasing depth (IE a Ponzi scheme).kungfufighter wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 1:53 amTalking of government debt, did you know that we now have a perfect storm of both government and private debt? The same with his current money waterfall towards Airlines&Co, just to "keep the economy going". What a waste of money, with such an inefficient "investment".

I don’t disagree that crypto can be worthwhile to invest in much the same as any other tradable financial instrument - but the whole premise of it being used as an alternative currency is utter nonsense. Which then eventually comes back around to “what is it good for?” - bonds, stocks, gold etc all have a purpose- crypto at the moment remains an elegant solution to a problem nobody can find.
But again, make your money whilst it’s hot. I don’t disagree. And yes, willing to change my mind- but nothing I’ve read has convinced me any crypto is going global as an an everyday currency replacement.

That article you posted is based on several misdemeanors. 1. That computing power and resource use don't improve. Even now, 70% of mining is sourced from renewable and off-peak (energy that would be wasted) it's extremely power hungry, which incentivises miners to source the best deals. The power used is ProofofWork and protects the integrity of the system. 2. That the entire Blockchain needs to be held in ever single computer. 3. It avoids the Lightning Network. EtcSpigzy wrote: ↑Tue Jun 16, 2020 3:06 amI don’t disagree that crypto can be worthwhile to invest in much the same as any other tradable financial instrument - but the whole premise of it being used as an alternative currency is utter nonsense. As far as selfish miners goes, several strategies have been worked out to deincentivise miners from selfish mining.

It's odd how he's managed to complete somewhat of an about-face, initially raging at people with (or whom he perceives as having) money, then moving on to how much money everyone can make with BitCoin.
Next month he'll be banging on about some specific app and how it saves everyone money.
