They should be but often aren’t.spitthedog wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 2:26 amHello Bongs,

Scottish banknotes along with Northern Irish banknotes are often rejected because the cashier has never seen one before and thinks you are paying with Monopoly money.
Change them in a bank and save yourself the hassles.
Maybe Londinium (Harrods for example) but anywhere else it’s as good as Monopoly money as Scottish banknotes are not legal tender in England, or Scotland for that matter.
Not seen one for a long time.
Scottish currency is actually produced by their own retail banks not a government one.

pew, pew, pew, pew!
It does depend where you go but a lot of places you try to use it, bars and restaurants for example, the staff will be from outside the UK and don't have a clue what it is.

It's not just notes, coins can be a problem sometimes. However,it's legal tender and they have to take it.

When you say party do you mean with bouncy castles and jelly or where we put all our car keys in a bowl?ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 1:18 pmSnore…YaTingPom wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:39 pmNot legal tender.Frycek Edzio wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:11 pmIt's not just notes, coins can be a problem sometimes. Technically we're both right and wrong. It is legal tender but no one has an obligation to accept a purchase if they don't want to whichever form of payment you want to make with credit ,debit or cash.ផោមក្លិនស្អុយ wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 1:18 pmSnore…YaTingPom wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:39 pmNot legal tender.Frycek Edzio wrote: ↑Tue Jul 12, 2022 12:11 pmIt's not just notes, coins can be a problem sometimes.
