Hello,
Apologies. Just asking on here as I know there's some banking folks on here.
My wife and I got married in Yangon and went through the proper channels to get the cert?
If I had the big banger and dropped dead tomorrow, would such a cert likely enable her to get my millions in the Oi'rish bank, and vice versa?
Or can you sign something at the bank, if not?
Tanks a million.

Is it translated into English?
UK law recognises marriages conducted overseas, whether Irish law is the same… I guess it probably is, but you’d need to check.
But simplest thing to do is just write a will.

Will and 2 powers of attorney. One for your welfare if you are deemed incapable and one for your finances and property. In the UK, at least, if you don't have this the local council takes control of your life and will strip you of everything in one of their awful care homes. The fucking council for chrissakes. Who would want those awful people in charge of your already miserable future and hard-earned if you're lying in a nappy somewhere.

If you are legally married and registered with the Irish Consulate/Embassy over there then she automatically becomes your sole heir through marriage,no will is required should you die intestate but I would strongly suggest instructing a trustworthy solicitor preferably back in Ireland to be the executor of your will or estate all the same?spitthedog wrote: ↑Fri Jan 19, 2024 11:12 pmHello,
