I have a family member who will be fitted with a colostomy bag following cancer treatment and they are understandably in shock about the realities of this. If you are living in PP with a colostomy bag, or had one in the past and you'd be willing to share some experience, words of wisdom or even meet with them to show them that it's not as scary at it might seem, please message me.
I get this can be the butt (no pun intended) of many jokes, but i just want to help them feel more informed.
Colostomy advice
I worked with a guy who had one many years ago, a British former bomber pilot who needed a colostomy due to war injuries.
Not sure if things have changed much, but you need to mentally prepare the other people in the house for the smell when the bag is emptied, it's overpowering. Diplomacy is needed, just grin and bear it.

The worst thing about having a colostomy bag is finding the shoes to match.
