Monkey pox
Monkey pox
Hi guys I just thought I'd let you know my recent experience of being vaccinated for monkeypox.
I was not intending to have the jab but when I went to my local GP to receive my 5th covid jab and I was fortunate enough to be offered the monkey pox vaccine which I readily accepted.
Anyway the injection was painless and I went home happy.
I had a slight tingling feeling on my left arm. where the covid vaccine was administered but no reaction in the area of the monkey pox jab.
I think it's extremely important for people who are in the service industry like me and meet many people everyday to get this vaccination.
Please don't be hesitant about it there are no side effects and only benefits.
It's important for society that everyone does this, please don't be selfish about it.
Bismillah friends!

Oh god, here comes another wave of sensationalist fear-mongering, cheap journalism and p(r)oxy marketing by the public for Pfizer, Moderna, J&J, et al
Dengue is a far greater concern, but nobody's talking about that, it's just not fashionable

Is it really mostly gays that get Monkeypox?
I read it was likely spread by gays at an Ibiza rave.
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
Someone told me the other day that it was likely first started by a man having unprotected sex with a monkey.
Good grief. Surely not?

"I don't care what the people are thinking, i ain't drunk i'm just drinking"
The same was said when AIDS came on to the scene, but more likely the cross infection came about by someone eating infected monkey meat.spitthedog wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 4:03 amIs it really mostly gays that get Monkeypox?

imvanex®, a smallpox vaccine and all over 50 have already been vaccinated.
The sole high risk group in the western world are those that engage in male with male sex or I suppose those that share saliva or blood with someone who is high risk.
That is if you consider high risk to be to be 800 in a billion.
So, I take it you're a doctor then. Did you spend years studying medicine. Why have they developed a vaccine for it.Anthony's Wiener wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 6:41 amYou likely receivedFully Vaccinated wrote: ↑Thu Jun 09, 2022 1:54 amHi guys I just thought I'd let you know my recent experience of being vaccinated for monkeypox.

Why are doctors recommend it , if it isn't contagious and of great concern.
It's this sort of attitude that kept us in lockdown for so long , lots of anitvax people not taking the vaccine, thinking they know more than the doctors.
As a kid, we were told eggs were great for you.Fully Vaccinated wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 12:22 amSo, I take it you're a doctor then. Did you spend years studying medicine. Why have they developed a vaccine for it.

Then later, doctors weighed in and said they are unhealthy because of cholesterol. Lately, we're being told they're great again.
A similar story with butter, we were told to use margarine, and now we are being told butter is better.
And then there is this: https://www.npr.org/2020/07/17/88759069 ... scriptions
Just because somebody is a doctor or scientist doesn't mean they're honest. I believe COVID is real, and I happily accept vaccination (it was free), but if you suggest we blindly assume political and financial considerations don't sway what doctors or governments do, you need help.

They haven't developed a vaccine for it, they are using a smallpox vaccine. No, I am not a doctor but I am literate and I read.Fully Vaccinated wrote: ↑Fri Jun 10, 2022 12:22 amSo, I take it you're a doctor then. Did you spend years studying medicine. The outbreaks so far in the western world are in clusters of gay bath houses and massage parlours. If you feel at risk because of your lifestyle by all means get the smallpox vaccine.
I have 3 Covid shots, 2 Pfizer and an AZ. I assure you that I have not put you at risk my friend.
If it's such a harmless organism why are they researching its use as a bioweapon?

Who suggested it was a harmless organism? Allegedly the fatality rate is 10%.Fully Vaccinated wrote: ↑Sat Jun 11, 2022 5:08 amIf it's such a harmless organism why are they researching its use as a bioweapon?
But with 1000 or 2000 active cases in the western world currently you are more likely to be eaten by a shark or struck by lightning, both can be deadly but not high on my list of things I need to worry about.
Not too thrilled about the border screening here. I have psoriasis and thus red patches/bumps on my skin. As critical thinking is lacking here I plan to bring a letter with me signed by a local hospital/dermatologist. Not looking forward being carted off to a local hospital and awaiting a negative test result. God knows how long it takes. Given the Covid experience here all expenses will likely be passed on to the passengers unlucky enough to be screened....

If only the monkey had worn a condom.

Advice I try to live my life by, and have largely been successful.
A lemur isn’t technically a monkey, is it?
