Air Asia to start flying to Kuala Lumpur to Sihanoukville
Awesome.
Now you can fly from one shithole directly to another.

Will this have any effect of the number of Sihanoukville-bound tourists passing through Phnom Penh?

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.

i give it 6 months before it folds

Shitsville ? Unfortunately it has the resilience of pubic lice. Might take a bit longer.....Phuket2006 wrote:i give it 6 months before it folds

Until one day you get a job in one of them, at which point they will be awesome. Best places ever!

As passing through PP - especially if heading to the South or the islands - is not very attractive to many foreign travellers, I give this considerably more than six months.Phuket2006 wrote:i give it 6 months before it folds
Also, I predict more Chinese investing in Sihanoukville, turning it into the Phuket of Cambodia eventually.

Give it a hundred year and few meters sea rise level and SHV province map will indeed be shaped like Thailand western seaboard, too bad for the thousands of flooded buildings islets on the horizon.mrdome wrote:As passing through PP - especially if heading to the South or the islands - is not very attractive to many foreign travellers, I give this considerably more than six months.Phuket2006 wrote:i give it 6 months before it folds

I think this exactly is very attractive to travellers. Now they can skip PP and bus travel all together. From West to KL -> SHK/Islands -> SR -> BKK/KL...mrdome wrote:As passing through PP - especially if heading to the South or the islands - is not very attractive to many foreign travellers, I give this considerably more than six months.Phuket2006 wrote:i give it 6 months before it folds

JC Airlines started their flights from SHK to KL yesterday too. It's actually Phnom Penh - Kuala Lumpur flight with a stop in SHK. They fly every Tuesday and Saturday. Prices seems to be around 150$ from both SHK and PP to KL
I don't suppose a stopover is possible in SNV if you fly PP-KL with no luggage ? That'd sure beat the train ..
