Flight changed to three hours earlier
So I'm getting out of dodge tonight, and had a late afternoon flight. I had timed it so that I could attend a monthly meeting, and then make it to the airport. I received a phone call at 8:30 AM this morning that they moved up my flight by 3 hours (and of course it's the only flight of the day). I've had this happen a few months in advance, when a route changes, but never on the same day. I can't believe it, what nerve!

Anyone who doesn't like Capitalism is a pathetic loser. God bless the USA and no place else.
What a cheek. If I were you I would get my own helicopter or Falcon.
This said at least they warned you. The same happened to me once a few years ago flying from Europe to Cambodia on Thai Airways , they moved the flight ahead by one hour and I missed it because I hadn't seen the email sent the previous day

Yea, it was a little venting. But it's annoying as I couldn't make an afternoon meeting I should have. I think it's totally unacceptable to change a flight time by three hours (earlier), and notify me that morning. Once at the airport they told me it was because of a VIP flight. How does that make it ok? I posted here to see if this is a common occurance here, or if I have a right to be annoyed. It's Vietnam airlines, and I'll plan to avoid them in the future.horace wrote:Facebook post not k440
Not only would they not give us an upgrade when asked, but he said he gave us an exit row, which as it turns out is not an exit row.
I should have taken the G7, you're right.
VIP flights are fairly common and are a major pain in the ass for all the other flights. They will simply close down the airport for incoming traffic for 30-40 minutes and put all the incoming planes in a holding pattern, and after they open up the airport again let them in one by one - for the airlines this means a delay of at least 30 minutes, plus some useless fuel burn.

But how could this make my flight change from 6 PM to 3 PM, the morning of?Kachang wrote:VIP flights are fairly common and are a major pain in the ass for all the other flights. AND it got worse - they didn't have beer on the flight!

At least you got some notification. Try taking an internal flight in Ethiopia, they have the most flexible schedule I've ever come across. With some airlines if you arrive half an hour before departure you don't get to check in. With those guys the aircraft might already be in the air by then. They seemed to figure when they had as many aboard as was required, they would just take off.Miguelito wrote:So I'm getting out of dodge tonight, and had a late afternoon flight. I also had a flight booked a few years ago with Hong Kong Express and found out entirely by accident that not only were the cunts not running the flight I had a ticket for, they had actually stopped flying the route a month before.
Not a word from them to notify me. No phone call or text, despite having my number, and no email despite having my address. The only thing they did right was put my on a flight with another airline. Fucking wankers.
