Visa carry over to new passport.
Recently got the 1 year retirement visa in Cambodia and had to unexpectedly return to Aus. My old passport had 1 & 1/2 pages left so I decided to get a new one while home.
Do I have to bring the old and canceled passport with me to prove I have a valid visa or are the details in the chip page?
(I asked the person who did the passport but she didn't know for certain)

Never mind
You have to take the old passport with you until you get a visa in the new passport.

I thought it was all hyperbole.
What are the requirements

It's an Extension of Stay of the E-type visa, called an ER (Retirement) EOS. Been available since Sept last year. 1,3,6,12 mth extensions available, same price as the old E-type visa extensions. Currently no supporting documentation required if applied for through an agent.
Requirements;
- Documents or letters proving retirement
- Documents showing retirement fund in bank or other relevant documents.
Latest immigration sub-decree unofficial translation...
I'm not a negative person, I encourage people all the time...it's usually to f**k off! But, whatever.

As others have said,
I renewed my passport in OZ a few weeks ago for the same reason and entered with my old passport with the Cambo visa attached to the new one with a Rubber band. t was just a week ago and I was Stamped in at immigration at the airport no problems. I will exit and enter again this month until I get a new visa in the new passport early next month.

I know several that have the ER visa and not one person has been required to show any documents. They just handed the passport to the agent and asked to get an ER visa.PSD_Kiwi wrote:ricecakes wrote:There is New retirement visa ?

However that may well change.
BTW, I just got a retirement visa for Thailand a couple of weeks ago when in OZ. I transferred money into my account one day, went to the bank the next day to get a statement of balance with stamp and then transferred the funds out that afternoon.

Yep, like I said, no supporting documentation required if applied for through an agent...different story if you try at the Immigration Dept though.

Pardon my engrish, thanks you.
Try a different agent, I know several people, most under 50 and even one guy under 40, who have obtained their ER EOS through an agent without having to provide any supporting documentation.raendi wrote:Didn't work for me last month.
