Sure, but very few people going to the airport to fly have no luggage, and there are plenty of old people, small children involved...I think they should negotiate a stop inside the compound, maybe charge people more that get on/off104 wrote:to be fair it is not an "airport bus", it is a local, reasonably clean, comfortable, affordable bus that does a loop which happens to stop outside or near the airport in both directions.vladimir wrote:It will be fun in rainy season if it doesn't drop people off inside
If you want door to door service then get a taxi, tuk tuk or moto. Your choice should probably take into account , rainfall levels, number of passengers and the amount of luggage.

Ah didn't click through that link.
But for $5 you can get a tuk tuk to the airport from pretty much anywhere as long as you are not using hotel tuk tuks. Plus looking at the schedule looks like a bit of a round-about trip, but i guess an option for a comfortable ride.

Bus from the airport into town sounds worth the wait. Not sure about the other way round yet though.

I wonder how the new shuttle train affects local business when it will open this season? Price? I'm thinking of all the backpackers that now take a tuk tuk or a moto. It's not supposed to be any faster though, not at least after the bridge is completed. (Anyone has a date for that?)
Any actual date for the shuttle train yet?

I don't think any price has been announced yet. Would have to be less than $2 to make it worthwhile in my opinion. Doesn't take you to your door so may need another tuktuk which will likely be $1.50/$2.claptrap1 wrote:I wonder how the new shuttle train affects local business when it will open this season? Price? if travelling alone that would be comparable to a passapp/itsumo.
I wouldn't surprise me if they priced it so high that nobody would use it. It is free until the end of July though.
