True. I tend not to myself as I find them too irritating. Also I live close to the airport so the fixed price is disadvantageous.gavinmac wrote: ↑Thu Apr 25, 2019 10:58 amCricket99 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 10:22 pmThank you, a real world example, this is what I was afraid of. Having taken many a tuk tuk at that that time around the city, I know the struggle, the only thing I wasn't sure of was at the airport. My friend is a first time visitor to Cambodia and I would rather not have her waiting for 30 minutes for a ride, while I personally would not care. I will try the stop off and report back for anyone else who is interested. Thank you all for the feedback.slavedog wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2019 9:17 pmI arrived airport 0100 Sunday, tried Grab several times, no drivers available.
My wife had offered to pick me up but I'd told her not to bother.
In the end I ran the gauntlet of touts and drivers to the road and got a tuk tuk there.
No big deal, but what a terrible first impression for any first time visitors, arriving and having to deal with those fuckwits.
Your fiend could step outside the arrivals hall and say "taxi" and pay $12-$15 to go anywhere in town.
