Coming to Cambodia
Coming to Cambodia
Hey all, I'm living in Thailand 4 yrs now. Looking hard at Cambodia as Plan B because I'm reading articles recently in the papers suggesting that a Digital Health Pass is in the works. Basically to keep track of your jabs so that you can participate in their version of a new free and safe society. See https://www.bangkokpost.com/business/21 ... health-app
I wanted to get the latest on Cambodia and the lock down situation et all. Yes I have read that entry requires a business visa or a retirement visa from the Cambodian embassy in Bangkok plus two weeks isolation in a fun camp at your own expense.
At present, what is open/closed?
Are there in country travel restrictions?
Are there any indications of a Digital Health Pass Cambodian style in the works?
Are masks mandatory or just suggested?
Gyms open or closed?
Any indication of jabs being a requirement for a new visa or extending of visa?
Or proof of jabs required to enter a market/store/business/etc ?
Other stuff of importance?
Thanks, Glenn

You can’t get a business or retirement visa from an embassy. It’s a 30 day E ordinary visa which you then extend in country to a business or retirement.
To get the 30 day you’ll need a job offer.

Yeah Glenn, you aren't keen to follow health guidelines in Thailand - by all means, come over here and spread the plague.

Skip Cambodia. You might want to try Florida or Texas, I hear they're receptive to the likes of you. Florida even has portable morgues now, so it's all good.

1. Yet another person looking to move from Thailand to Cambodia - with the negative view of the ‘type’ that has previously made that move in recent times
2. Questions relating to the covid situation, which is as uncertain as anything else in the future and can change on a dime - and is the topic of too much content on social media and in the media.
3. Visa and work permit related element - of which tens of thousands have previously been told you can’t get an EB without a job offer, so anyone coming now would be on a tourist visa … and tourist visas…… read PSD Kiwi’s comments on other threads

Nope, it's because he's obviously an anti-masker, anti-vaxxer and we don't need anymore of those.violet wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 8:58 amMight be the fact that the central theme of the post combines three pet peeves of forum members:Phuket2006 wrote: ↑Sun Aug 29, 2021 8:39 amwhats with the people here?

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
He’s very private about stuff I doubt he’d tell us about anything he’s done in THAILAND or anywhere else.

I wouldn't agree, I find him to be quite open. Anyway there are ways around these restrictions, and he's paying his way so it shouldn't be an issue. Getting a further extension might be, you generally need a lot of documentation these days to do so legally. He likely qualifies for an ER.
