Ehh, the Oath-Keepers chief in charge got arrested now. Dumb nr 1 ?
US Election 2020
Are you referring to Elmer Rhodes? He is a federal informant.
You make a good point though. The Oath Keepers are not very bright and the feds had no problem setting up members and even turning some of their leaders into informants.

This doesn't look good.
Conservatives on their way to grab absolute power, with an accumulation of dirty tricks
It's time, democrats open their eyes and use the same dirty tricks.

Elmer Stewart Rhodes.
Federal informant ? Hmmmm, he is the leader of that intelligent bunch, "Oath-Keepers". Maybe reread your sources ?
I haven't followed the case too closely but there is strong evidence that he is an informant. Here is a good interview about it with Scott Horton, a well known libertarian and antiwar activist:
It could always be the leader of the Oath-Keepers is an informant, though to me, it looks more like misinformation and/or attempts to destabilize the Oath-Keepers organization. Though, you never know whether he saw the real light and started betraying his comrads.
Maybe, you have references to more genuine information, than just a YT audio ?

Oath-Keepers leader spewed anti-government hate for more than a decade.
I think, your assumption, Rhodes being an informant, is way off reality.
There are many radicals on the left and right who spew anti-government rhetoric and work with the feds. Talk is cheap and the feds can entice them with money or the threat of punishment or even blackmail.
I haven't looked into this case too closely but Beattie's analysis and the videos from the riot and my own intuition leads me to believe that
there were a number of informants and that Stewie Rhodes was one of them. If this is case then we will probably have to wait years before many of the facts are disclosed.

Not sure where to post this comment in a recent article for the failing New York Times, but it seemed a funny, verifiable, non-alternative fact. (The article is about how mushy and flexible numbers are, and really only mean whatever the speaker intends at that moment, so if someone talks about it later, even an accounting firm, it can only be a sick partisan witch-hunt that no one cares about.)
"Trump has the best losses. A lot of people are saying these are losses the likes of which nobody has ever seen and frankly, if you look, Obama never lost like this. But believe me, these are the most honest losses. In fact, people come up to Trump all the time and say, "Sir, we never even knew someone could lose so much." Nobody knows this but we'll see what happens."

Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
