Australia’s SOS - Christine Anderson - from the EU Parliament.
Are you so afraid for governments, you are prepared to have a serious chance to die from NOT getting the jabs, not to say, you accept that 2% of the world-population will die without measures in place, not to say the enormous health costs (now and due to Long Covid-19), not to say, all people who can not get regular medical treatment because the hospitals are clogged up with sick 100% regretting anti-vaxxers, not to say, accept the enormous costs to the economy due to too many anti-vaxxers causing the continuous lock-downs ?
Looks pretty barbarian to me. Humankind did this in the Neanderthal ages. Nowadays, most humans (except stark monsters, seemingly) think different.
And regarding the R0, just study that subject, before spitting out so much nonsense.
In case you don't know, nearly 5.5M people died in really horrible circumstances. Largely due to some political populist leaders, waving away Covid-19 as being "just a flue" and considering their own interests/reelection more important, ignoring their oath to serve the country.

My general feelings on the subject are articulated in this balanced and cool headed discussion.
I'm wondering, are you yourself in such a bad shape that you're in a high risk group for covid and scared AF or simply lost all purpose in life since Biden took over from Trump and you're using the unvaxinated as a substitute to vent your inner rage?v12 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 12:15 amAre you so afraid for governments, you are prepared to have a serious chance to die from NOT getting the jabs, not to say, you accept that 2% of the world-population will die without measures in place, not to say the enormous health costs (now and due to Long Covid-19), not to say, all people who can not get regular medical treatment because the hospitals are clogged up with sick 100% regretting anti-vaxxers, not to say, accept the enormous costs to the economy due to too many anti-vaxxers causing the continuous lock-downs ?

On the contrary, not vulnerable, nor the egoist type of person you seem to be.mvuvi wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 7:45 amI'm wondering, are you yourself in such a bad shape that you're in a high risk group for covid and scared AF or simply lost all purpose in life since Biden took over from Trump and you're using the unvaxinated as a substitute to vent your inner rage?v12 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 17, 2021 12:15 amAre you so afraid for governments, you are prepared to have a serious chance to die from NOT getting the jabs, not to say, you accept that 2% of the world-population will die without measures in place, not to say the enormous health costs (now and due to Long Covid-19), not to say, all people who can not get regular medical treatment because the hospitals are clogged up with sick 100% regretting anti-vaxxers, not to say, accept the enormous costs to the economy due to too many anti-vaxxers causing the continuous lock-downs ?

I recognize, there are little ways out of the current pandemic, other than what the governments are trying to do (after the failures of Trumpie, Bojo and some of their populist friends, causing at least half of the unnecessary Covid-19 deaths). Unfortunately, to many idiots in the general public, are thinking they know better than the scientist, advising the governments. With the consequence of continuous travel limitations, lockdowns, enormous avoidable costs, a continuous limitation of freedom and the continuous high Covid-19 death-rate.
Due to these idiots, we have to hope, the upcoming Omicron variant (highly contagious, but maybe no longer lethal), is the natural way out of the pandemic.
Signs for that tend to be positive, though time will tell. A highly mutated virus could imply easy infection, though also that the body immune system no longer gets fooled into "It's OK, just a flue" though starts attacking the virus right from the beginning (and win that game).

Another common stat I often hear stated without data to back it up, is that the hospitals are flooded with the unvaccinated.
And indeed the unvaccinated are over represented, but are in reality make up a minority of the total.
The data in fact shows that the hospital are full of the elderly, the large majority of which are double vaccinated.
Here is the UK governments monthly vaccine report the data was taken from.

First 785 Danish SARSCOV2 omicron cases eurosurveillance.org/content/10.280…

83% fully or booster vaccinated
17% not vaccinated (including 2.6 vax started)
ONLY 4.3% had previous SARS-CoV-2 infection
91% had no travel history, 9% reported travel

Apparently Boris Johnson was partying during the lockdown. He should resign. His hypocrisy is unforgivable because he supported the lockdowns knowing full well that they would disrupt the lives of millions of people.

Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.
Who are they going to replace him with, the alternatives are even more frightening.
I think the only way to save that democracy is to...

I understand your concern over who would replace him but I think Johnson is a disgrace because he didn't comply with the lockdown that he himself supported. The lockdown destroyed thousands of lives.
Johnson is awful. He supports open borders. He talks about building a gender and carbon neutral UK.

By the way there is a similar controversy in the state of California. Governor Gavin Newsom was photographed at a get together in an exclusive restaurant and he was in violation of the lockdown which he himself had imposed on Californians. I also think he should step down.

I really don't know who will take his place if he does go, personally I'm fed up with them all.
The British Media was one of the main driving forces for lockdown, Boris wanted to go for herd immunity at first.
The UK should have done something similar to Sweden.
Personally my view is, and I've said it before and I'll say it again when it comes to Mother Nature the best managerial approach is to do nothing !
