You keep saying "Tesla themselves call it a recall'. You are wrong. They are not. They call it exactly for what it is, an over the air software update.
“Recall” is just the regulatory term. I don’t know why you oppose it so much. It’s legalese for what it is.
Yes, the recall will be solved with an OTA software update. But that doesn’t change that it’s a recall.
“- On January 25, 2023, as part of regular ongoing communications between Tesla and NHTSA relating to Autopilot and FSD Beta, NHTSA advised Tesla that it had identified potential concerns related to certain operational characteristics of FSD Beta in four specific roadway environments, as described above.
NHTSA requested that Tesla address these concerns by filing a recall notice.”
“On February 7, 2023, while not concurring with the agency’s analysis,
Tesla decided to administer a voluntary recall out of an abundance of caution.”
Safety Recall Report:

Here is the NHTSA acknowledgement of Tesla’s voluntary recall:

To be fair, the “voluntary” recall wasn’t so voluntary since the regulating body would have probably have acted if Tesla didn’t issue the recall. But that doesn’t change that Tesla issued a recall.

Nothing to do with the recall that GM just announced for over 300,000 of their trucks that are being recalled to their dealerships because of a fire hazard. Which is a serious issue of like teslas software update.
Of course it doesn’t have anything to do with separate recalls by GM of separate vehicles. I didn’t say that they are related and I didn’t compare them.
But Tesla has issued a recall due to problems that will be solved with OTA software upgrades.
It’s still a recall no matter how they fix the problems, in this case it is solved by software upgrades.
And I don’t know why Tesla has deployed beta stage software in retail products (FSD Beta). There are unnecessary risks to doing so, since “beta” generally means that the software isn’t stable enough to meet reliability expectations.
Tesla obviously expects problems in FSD. That’s why it’s been named FSD Beta.

Is your computer being "recalled" each time you are being pushed a software update by Microsoft or Apple or any software company whose product you're using?
No, but not applying those upgrades doesn’t risk people’s health. Computer vendors issue recalls for problems that do risk people’s health or break hardware.
For example Apple recalled 14” MacBook Pros manufactured between September 2015 and February 2017.

When software problems occur in computers requiring them to be recalled, BIOS software problems for instance, they are recalled.
