Elon Musk and Twitter
How dare you call Pepe a hate symbol.Guest wrote: ↑Thu Dec 01, 2022 1:41 amIn the last couple of days Musk has celebrated his concept of free speech by posting a Pepe meme, well known as a far right trope. Then he posted a picture of his bedside table, with massive gun prominent.
Better load up. You got the smarts.Alexandra wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 7:47 pmThat’s not how it works. MSTR has only 11,320,000 outstanding shares and $1.71B market cap, but TSLA has 3,146,000,000 outstanding shares and $572.99B market cap.Guestguest wrote: ↑Sat Nov 26, 2022 6:13 pmI see $MSTR is higher than $TSLA today
If MSTR had the same number of outstanding shares as TSLA, one individual MSTR share would trade at $0.54. It’s a penny stock compared to TSLA.
Smarts don’t matter much I’m afraid. The public stock market is a rigged casino. There are much smarter people than me losing more money than I’ll ever make.Dogsdick wrote: ↑Fri Dec 09, 2022 3:50 pmBetter load up. You got the smarts.
While I enjoy the theory, fundamentals don’t matter and technical analysis is astrology for gambling addicts.
I wish I could get my 401k in hand and dump it all on real estate instead. I don’t want to compete against low latency algorithms while my trades are either internalized or subject to PFOF (invented by Bernie Madoff himself) and shady dark pools.
Brokers aren’t even selling stocks. They sell CFDs and IOUs and bet against the small guy. It’s a huge Ponzi scheme. They’re not even hiding it. The fact that FTDs even exist and that settlement is delayed differently for different actors is fucked up.
Gary Gensler himself said in a Bloomberg interview that 90-95% of retail trades don’t hit the lit market. Price discovery is nonexistent.
It’s all bullshit.

Free speech as long as you don’t make fun of him. Imagine deleting accounts just because you got booed.
He won't unban Alex Jones. Elon Musk does not care about free speech. He has no principles.
Snopes has found this to be dodgy. The video is all over Twitter and no action has been taken against all those accounts.
While that account might no longer exist there is no evidence it was deleted by Twitter. It could have been self deleted.
Musk is a horrible twat but let’s not fall into a rabbit hole of conspiracy nonsense. He allows literally millions of attack tweets every day.
The really revealing thing about this episode is that like Trump he seems to have surrounded himself with a bubble of regard. Does he really have no advisers telling him that he would get humiliated on a Dave Chappelle stage in San Francisco of all places?
I almost felt sorry for him. He looked genuinely stunned. It reminded me of Trump’s reaction to being booed at that baseball game.
For what it’s worth, TSLA is down -51.01% since April 14 when Elon announced his interest to buy Twitter. -29.75% since October 28 when he completed the purchase. To be fair the downtrend began in November 2021.
2 days ago it was reported that Tesla short sellers have made $11.5B this year.
Bernard Arnault has overtaken the “richest man in the world” title. https://www.forbes.com/real-time-billio ... 000a193d78

When Musk starts posting ‘prosecute Fauci’ as he did recently, despite being eminently sensible about Covid in 2020, what is going on? When he invites Trump back, complains about the ‘woke mind virus’ or tweets an image of him having a gun on his bedside table, what is really happening?
It’s all about Tesla.
Musk is using Twitter to rebrand himself to give Tesla a boost. Figure it out: who has his traditional customer base been? The upper middle class, green and woke brigade - those very people he is now reviling.
Why?
Because to grow Tesla has to reach a new audience. The largest car category in the US is the Ford S series pick up truck, and that pick up market is worth close to 2,000,000 units per annum.
Tesla’s next big move in vehicles is precisely that sort of vehicle but a green and electric version.
Now the truck market in the US is largely the preserve of the good ole’ boy gun-toting, Trumpist. There ain’t no way they are going to have a Tesla from a rich liberal like musk really is so he has to reinvent himself; rebrand himself in exactly the same way that Democrat Pro-choice best friend of Hilary Donald Trump did a few years ago.
That is the ONLY way he can grow Tesla and move into a lucrative market. He has to make himself obnoxious. He has to appeal to the Trump base. I doubt he really believes his own nonsense even - it’s a rebranding project.

Interesting theory but it's got some giant holes in itGuest wrote: ↑Wed Dec 14, 2022 12:02 amWhen Musk starts posting ‘prosecute Fauci’ as he did recently, despite being eminently sensible about Covid in 2020, what is going on? - The Dems (Warren & co) have been attacking him for a decade for being rich.
- That clown Biden has never even acknowledged Tesla and its extraordinary achievements, instead he's been praising Government Motors ("you did it Mary") as Tesla is not unionised. Buttigieg, as a transport secretary, had been equally silent
- Space X and starlink have had recent setbacks an de restrictions imposed by the regulatory agency that don't make any sense, except for political interference from the very top
Regarding new markets especially the cybertruck, it had already well over 1.5 million pre orders before the current meltdown and the twitter saga. More than they could build in the next 5 years
