Isn't it about time Britain dumped its metric system in favour for something better?

I'm fine to use a bit of both to be honest - a pint always seemed like a really good measure versus a litre, or half-litre. But other things just work in metric so much better; weight, height, etc. And when you're trying to work out serious scientific problems, measuring horses in "hands" isn't exactly the way to go.

Despite what nonsense rags like Daily Mail tell you, the EU never stopped the U.K. using imperial measurements. You still by milk in pint, two pint and four pint cartons. Pubs sell beer in pint glasses, and the butcher down the road will happily sell you a pound of chops.

Back to the days of only a farthing for a flagon of ale, and two and sixpence to go two furlongs in a tram.

Nobody wants to have to buy metric AND imperial spanners anymore.
The only time you have to use imperial is on the darn Yankee gear.

In Canada we switched from imperial to metric many years ago while the US didn't. We still use feet and inches in construction as in an 8 ft 2X4 but the architectural drawings will be metric. So you need tape measures that show both or 2 different tape measures. I still say miles. Most kids have no clue about quarts, ounces, gallons etc.
I had to look up what a spanner was. But ya you need both imperial and metric wrenches and socket sets. Real pain.

Up till then a flagon of ale had been a farthing for more than 2000 years.
Is there a conversion table to convert gigabytes to an imperial equivalent ?

pew, pew, pew, pew!
We still have work to do. 24 hours a day seems illogical. Should just be 20. And the 12 notes in music should be just 10. Because there are too many notes in general with a lot of music. And I would actually rather have 100 seconds in a minute than 60. 60 seconds is not enough in my personal opinion.
