I thought my point was that people who were born in countries that weren't China and don't have a Chinese culture outside of their home, aren't really Chinese. I don't think that's offensive, is it? Yatingpom was saying I had included them when I was talking about China and its people - i.e. calling them Chinese as opposed to British.Alexandra wrote: ↑Mon Jul 11, 2022 3:18 pmIt’s an interesting choice of metaphor after accusing YTP of xenophobia.JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:25 amMetaphorically speaking of course. Everyone knows a Chinese mother generally don't raise their hand to their child.
Since you ignored my question I take it that you are not British Chinese. What are you basing it on that it is offensive to them to be called Chinese? Are you being offended on their behalf just in case they are offended, without any evidence that they actually are? Yet your insinuations that their “mothers beat China into them” is somehow acceptable.
When they are clearly British etc.
I think your point is that they are Chinese mor6s than they are British and would prefer to be called that, or at least when it suits them?
