Chinese Communist Party Threat Is ‘Massive’
You accuse people of xenophobia in one breath and in the next you post a racial stereotype saying that Chinese mothers are beating China into their children. Take a moment and think…
Jolly, are you British Chinese? I was born and raised abroad (not Chinese) and personally never had a problem with anybody referring to me as part of my ethnicity. Nobody had to beat that into me.

Hahaha, glad to see you mentioned the ones bankrolled and trained by America and the West.
wrt 'help', I'm pretty sure Iraq and Afghanistan would happily retract those 'cries' for help.
Haiti, anyone?
No mention of that fact that it's almost invariably used to influence politics and is withdrawn when nations get cocky and think they can decide their own futures (or, occasionally, warmongering starts)
I’m a communist at heart.

Third generation Cambodians who once, long ago, had a Chinese great grandparent, who still think they are Chinese as opposed to Cambodian and look down on the people who in fact they are. The list of countries that use genetic as opposed to cultural identifiers is long. Partly because the inhabitants don't accept them, but mainly because their parents, grandparents, great grand parents feel/ felt superior and have enforced their supremist vision onto their offspring. Often on genetic lines as it's been a very very long time since anyone in the family has lived in China, or has even visited.
As if there is a genetic difference between races that makes one more superior than another.
That's not science. That's racism.

Metaphorically speaking of course. Everyone knows a Chinese mother generally don't raise their hand to their child.Alexandra wrote: ↑Fri Jul 08, 2022 4:48 pmYou accuse people of xenophobia in one breath and in the next you post a racial stereotype saying that Chinese mothers are beating China into their children. I've never noticed any specific superiority attitude among Sino-Khmers. Wealthy ones might have some attitude, but that's just as much true for wealthy Khmers.
Romantic Cambodia is dead and gone. It's with McKinley in the grave.
I must admit, after reading your posts, I certainly feel more superior than you.JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:18 amThird generation Cambodians who once, long ago, had a Chinese great grandparent, who still think they are Chinese as opposed to Cambodian and look down on the people who in fact they are. Cambodians do call themselves Chinese but it’s not a boast. It’s just the way they are.
Rich or poor they identify from Chinese heritage.
The Chinese were here long before the long noses showed up. They built most of the “colonial” shop houses.

They are probably not too bothered about tearing them down, to build casinos, now though.
Sniff.

Listen mate, if we are ever to live in fairyland with honey rivers and gumdrop trees, we won't be getting there by groups of people who think they are racially superior to others. You might like being all that. Poncing around as if your shit smells like lotus blossom compared to others, but untill you realise it's destructive NOT constructive you'll never reach enlightenment.Dylan Quint wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 3:22 pmI must admit, after reading your posts, I certainly feel more superior than you.JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:18 amThird generation Cambodians who once, long ago, had a Chinese great grandparent, who still think they are Chinese as opposed to Cambodian and look down on the people who in fact they are. Bongs,
If it is a given that the only businesses one should invest in long term, are those with a certain monopoly, or competitive advantage/moat.
From a purely financial aspect, how efficient COULD a country be if the state owned and had the power to control everything?
(Assuming they were not as bent as most politicians)
Capitalism needs reform.
Zombie low margin businesses everywhere.

It’s an interesting choice of metaphor after accusing YTP of xenophobia.JollyBee wrote: ↑Sat Jul 09, 2022 11:25 amMetaphorically speaking of course. Everyone knows a Chinese mother generally don't raise their hand to their child.
Since you ignored my question I take it that you are not British Chinese. What are you basing it on that it is offensive to them to be called Chinese? Are you being offended on their behalf just in case they are offended, without any evidence that they actually are? Yet your insinuations that their “mothers beat China into them” is somehow acceptable.
