Friday Quiz Question 27 Jan 2023
Without phoning a friend or referring to any reference material on or offline, and without asking any form of AI (Siri, chat GPT etc) can you answer today’s question?
Which wood is considered to be among the densest of woods in the world and to be the hardest wood in the world?
This wood does not float.
If people like the idea of a regular quiz question, anyone can create the question.
Only you will know if you do, but no cheating.

I can only think of one wood that doesn't float.

I like the idea of quizzing - but your question is a tad ambiguous.violet wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 1:03 pmWithout phoning a friend or referring to any reference material on or offline, and without asking any form of AI (Siri, chat GPT etc) can you answer today’s question?

Is there only one answer, or are there several?
Among the densest - or the densest?
It’s strangely worded. I can consider something to be true, but I could be wrong.
Should we respond using the ‘spoiler’ feature
?

There’s the clue to losing the ambiguity. I’ve bolded in the quote of the OP

Shall I respond as and when to let people know an answer is wrong or just wait till someone guesses right or, if nobody does, provide the answer after X amount of time?

Probably should've had these answers before you posted this thread. Or you could have made these questions the quiz.

So you are choosing to be a negative Nancy?
I didn’t realise everything had to be mapped out ahead of time.
It was a spur of the moment thought for a thread. The intention being to attempt to contribute positively to the forum.
I didn’t think further than that - why would I waste that energy when it might have been that nobody even wanted to participate?
Are you being as you are because you have no clue of the answer?
If you don’t know the answer to the quiz question, you could have come up with some answers to my latest questions. You know - made a positive difference.

Oh. I get it. You like being told what to do - rather than being participant in choices. I’m not a dominatrixviolet wrote: ↑Fri Jan 27, 2023 3:15 pmSo you are choosing to be a negative Nancy?

This one is in my passive knowledge. I’ve read it or seen it on tv in recent history. I know which country it comes from but it’s a strange name and i can’t recall it.
There is a wood called ironwood which is a plausible answer but I know it’s not right!
