Freedom is not a state. It is an act. It is not some enchanted garden perched high on a distant plateau.. Freedom is a continuous action we all must take, and each generation must do its part to create an even more fair, more just society.-John Lewis
The Ukraine counter-offensive appears imminent, western heavy weapons are now in the country with recently trained crews.
This certainly cranks up the stakes and will be interesting to see how Russia reacts to all this newly arrived weaponry. Unless Putin ups his game, Russia will suffer heavier frontline losses than they already have during their failed offensive

So... who blew up the dam?
Both sides have much to lose and gain from the subsequent flooding.
Could it have been an 'accident'- a HIMAR strike designed to damage, or minor sabotage from Russians to create limited flooding, that went horribly wrong?

The Russians gain the most militarily, however it is a short-term gain against a low-probability risk.Bong Burgundy wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 6:59 amSo... who blew up the dam?

The Ukrainians dropped HIMARS on a bridge built to the main dam wall, whilst the Russians blew the flood gates and road across the top of the dam wall itself when they retreated from Northern Kherson Oblast. I am sure none of this is conducive to good dam maintenance.
That both militaries appear caught by surprise, coupled with the havoc it will wreak on land that both sides wish to control in the long-term (primarily Southern Kherson Oblast and Crimea) gives credence to the dam failure narrative.

Is Putin Replacing Under-Fire Defense Minister with Steven Seagal?
Newsweek: https://www.newsweek.com/putin-replace- ... er-1809628That is according to a number of Iranian outlets, which reported the news on Monday night, apparently citing the Russian state news agency Sputnik.
Pardon my engrish, thanks you.
Reminds me of the 'Big Daddy' page about Idi Amin from Punch magazine.
At least we know Seagal will be genuinely working, because we all know he can't act.

It would appear the ICC arrest warrant for Putin is about to become a key issue in South African domestic politics.

That sort of information isn’t made public, though we do know Putin stated that Western made kit are priority targets.Frycek Edzio wrote: ↑Fri Jul 21, 2023 3:14 amHow successful have they been? What's their kill death ratio?
The Russians countered the danger of Western Main Battle Tanks by laying super-dense minefields. Most Ukranian armour is being held back until paths through these minefields are cleared.

This was bad backlash month ago.
EAtimes: https://www.eurasiantimes.com/50-of-ukr ... onated-by/50% Of Ukraine’s Leopard ‘Mine Breaching’ Tanks, Donated By Finland, Destroyed In Counter-Offensive
There have been videos where ukrainian soldiers are with these tanks in that field, but no info have they been taken for repair.
Pardon my engrish, thanks you.
