Current Processing Times for UK Visas?
It's much easier if you have kids, possibly you should bite the bullet and do the deed!
You actually go to the embassy, like in good old daysRobW wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 7:22 pmIt's easy but they seem to give the exact days you ask for?logos wrote: ↑Fri Jun 02, 2023 6:45 pmI think getting the Schengen visa is going to be fairly easy once she has the UK visa in her passport
Go to the French Embassy and explain that you want her to visit their beautiful country as her dream has always been to see the Eiffel tower and eating escargots.
Can you actually go to the embassies or is it farmed out to contractors, UK-style?
France has excellent roads for steaming south on and the moat is quite narrow at that point but I like to hop the boat to northern Spain.
You just need to make an online appointment on their website. Of course it's only the passport holder with the appointment that will be allowed in. Companions or husbands or wives are not let in.
Make sure that the applicant has a few thousands on her bank account and it helps to write a letter exposing the reasons why a Visa is required.
I did all that and could get a Schengen visa from the French Embassy for my 21-year-old sister-in-law who had no previous Schengen experience. I also told her to get her university to write a letter confirming she was allowed a 4 week break. The visa was granted for the number of days requested with proof of an airline return ticket, which they'll want as well. Of course you can just print out the itinerary and cancel the booking.
One last thing , the visitor will need medical insurance for the duration of her stay. We had to go back to the Embassy the next day with it and somehow bullshitted our way through without an appointment and it worked,, to my great surprise. 2 days later she collected her visa. Around $70 iirc
Hat tip to the UK visa people. 9 working days for 2-year multi.
I had thought nothing and nobody in Britshire worked any more.
Thanks to the person who suggested applying for the longer visa.
